It's good that you are looking for solutions. I will never fault anybody for that.

But there is no broad brush solution that is really feasible, short of genetic manipulation. And that would cuase quite the firestorm by itself.

Unfortunately, life on this world is like what was said in "Animal Farm".

"All animals are created equal, but some more than others."

I'm thinking that the only time humanity will really get along is when we are all fertilizer...at least then we will finally be equal.

I never claimed to deserve anything, I think the attitude the people deserve things is the problem.

Young man feels he deserves an 80K car, so he sells drugs to get it, instead of working and earning it like everyone else who has one.

Idiot gang members believe they deserve "respect" from everyone, though they rarely show any for anyone else, funny how that one works.

You act like none of these folks have any choices at all except to go to jail for murder etc...

They can go to work at mcdonalds, they will higher anyone, they can work at a gas station, they will higher most folks, without a violent theft or drug based conviction.

I know, I left a good job to move to Texas because I was promised a good job down here, it didn't pan out when we moved, so I am at present working at a gas station to pay the bills until a better option comes along.

They are no more stuch where they are than I was in indiana, they are allowed to go anywhere anytime they wish, this is America, your free to mave anytime of your choosing.

If there is not work in your area move, this is how most people fix the not being able to find work problem, they go to where there is work, they don't break the law, and sit around going " it isn't fair, the world didn't bring the job of my dreams to me when I wanted it to".

All I have seen out of you are excuses, not one single shred of fact or proofs of any type.

Why do you think the judge will tell the drug dealer to get a job? Is it because nobody can find one? Or is it because everyone else but a staggeringly small segment of the populous refuses to do so?

The truth is, there are plenty of jobs, just not good or great jobs at present, so instead of being a sponge on soviety, and turning to crime, most of us take a job that we feel is beneath us, as sucks, but pays the bills for now....

I suppose though I am wasting my breath, as it seems your set on blaming the world for individuals failure of logic, so we will just have to agree to disagree, because I am speaking from personal experience, and your repeating talking points for the apologist types.

There is no common ground between us, I know what I am talking about, I lived it and made the right choices, you obviously haven't had the same experiences or you would not be taking the tact you are.

Good day, I hope your weather will be as warm and sunny as it is here in Texas today.

Aww TDawg...thank you. Yes, I'm always looking for solutions...but no one would like my solution!
As long as there are 'haves' and 'have nots'....we will continue to perpetuate this sick control/greed society of separation and hatred.
Everyone needs to feel the sting of hunger, poverty, pain. Everyone.
Only then will we unite as a race of human beings....and unless we unite...we will fail, and fall...divided.

lol....ahhh....
I've been to Texas.
But you didn't know that.
In fact, you don't know anything about me. Or what my life has been like.
But you judge me.

Now that I don't agree with. Been there myself a couple of times and didn't like it. Wondering were my next meal was coming from or where I was going to sleep that night.

I got my act together and managed to retire at 48. Remember, retirement does not mean rich, it means living on a fixed income. By the cost of living index, I am pretty much at the top end of the poverty level...but I still consider myself well off. Who knows, thing may change...for better or worse.

If I can tell my story to some one before they head down the path I had already walked, then I have done good.

But people rarely listen, they don't learn from others mistakes, they insist that it will always happen to the other guy. And when it happens to them, they cry about it not being fair.

Here's something to think about. Most of the hippies of the 60's turned into the yuppies of the 80's & 90's.

They were pretty much a ruthless group. They had the mindset of "I got mine, you get yours" and now are at most levels of the governments of the western world.

That's not working out to well is it?

I have not judged you, I have pointed out the flaws I see in your logic.

Can you say the same? I think not, nor can cabin, as he attempted to judge me and assume I paint everyone else with the brush of my experiences.

Your both very off in your summation of my personality and the reasoning for my position on this subject.

I often talk about it taking all kinds to make the world go around, look at some of my past posts, they will show that I don't judge every situation from an I can do it so can everyone pov.

I know there are always exceptions, and situations that anyone could do anything with the correct stimuli.

Your assuming these people always have the one in a million odds that force their hands.

I am positive this happens one in a million times, and the other 99o

I don't believe that I summed up your personality...? All I did was disagree with your words...and express my own thoughts/beliefs. I didn't tell YOU to read more, or talk to professionals....(how do you know that I'm NOT one?)
I have the right to disagree...as do you. This is a discussion.

TDawg....Right! You've been there and you didn't like it. But now you have an appreciation for what you do have...even if you're not a millionaire. My point is that everyone should know how it feels....perhaps then no one would want anyone to suffer such a fate. Most people only care about themselves....we need to care about all of us, don't you think?

I do care about people, but the cold hard truth is that I only really care about those who I can help through advice (education/common sense) who will act upon it. Those that will listen & read about others so that they do not repeat mistakes of the past. I used to help physically as well, but now that the back is gone, about all I can do is supervise and I annoy people when I do that.

I give money to a couple of charities (Dawg related of course), and on the rare time I give money to friends or family, I don't expect it back.

I think that what it you are getting at and really does boil down to is; Everybody just needs to do their part to making the world a better place.

The thing is, everybody has their own version of that better place.

So I just do my little part.

My back is gone too (result of ex-husband slamming my head into a wall...1 disc bulging, 1 disc ruptured)...
I also try to do whatever I can...sometimes it feels so small, when so many people are suffering.
I care too much....always have.
"You may say I'm a dreamer....but I'm not the only one..."
Time for me to go and look after my elderly mother-in-law (with bad Altzheimers).
Thanks to all for the discussion...hope everyone has a great day!

but what drives that teen to massacre people.

I would suspect one main cause.

Abuse.

Physical.

Psychological.

Sexual.

All three of these things can leave victims with uncontrollable anger.

And people generally tend to target people they perceive as weak. Adam Lanza's relatives said he was never the same child after abuse at the Sandy Hook school.

Sexual abuse victims, which Casey Anthony claimed she endured within her family can have unresolved anger.
And it can result in unrelated victims.
