Why not question the credibility of the people doing the research? I'm sure someone tucked a nice penny in a pocket for it to be turned down a few decibels.

The same argument could be made for people being paid to ratchet it up a few notches. As such I will assume credibility on both pro and con research. Unless proofs come to light.
