Ra was considered chief of the Gods and First of the Ennead, (or egyptian God's hierarchy) I would say that Ra would be the Egyptian equivilant to "The Father." of the Bible. as he is considered "Father of the Gods."

Ra (pron.: /rɑː/)[1] or Re (pron.: /reɪ/ orpron.: /reɪ/; Egyptian: Rꜥ) was the ancient Egyptian solar deity. By the Fifth Dynasty (2494 to 2345 BC) he had become a major god in ancient Egyptian religion, identified primarily with the midday sun. The meaning of the name is uncertain, but it is thought that if not a word for 'sun' it may be a variant of or linked to words meaning 'creative power' and 'creator'.

The major cult centre of Ra was Heliopolis (called Iunu, "Place of Pillars", in Egyptian), where he was identified with the local sun-god Atum. Through Atum, or as Atum-Ra, he was also seen as the first being and the originator of the Ennead, consisting of Shu and Tefnut, Geb and Nut, Osiris, Set, Isis and Nephthys. In later Egyptian dynastic times, Ra was merged with the god Horus, as Re-Horakhty ("Ra, who is Horus of the Two Horizons"). He was believed to rule in all parts of the created world the sky, the earth, and the underworld.[3] He was associated with the falcon or hawk. When in the New Kingdom the god Amun rose to prominence he was fused with Ra as Amun-Ra. During the Amarna Period, Akhenaten suppressed the cult of Ra in favour of another solar deity, the Aten, the deified solar disc, but after the death of Akhenaten the cult of Ra was restored. The cult of the Mnevis bull, an embodiment of Ra, had its centre in Heliopolis and there was a formal burial ground for the sacrificed bulls north of the city.

All forms of life were believed to have been created by Ra, who called each of them into existence by speaking their secret names. Alternatively humans were created from Ra's tears and sweat, hence the Egyptians call themselves the "Cattle of Ra." In the myth of the Celestial Cow it is recounted how mankind plotted against Ra and how he sent his eye as the goddess Sekhmet to punish them. When she became bloodthirsty she was pacified by mixing beer with red dye. Wikipedia on Ra

The Ancient egyptian God Ra, many myths about Ra have been concieved of and recorded, for example Once Isis, the egyptian godess of fertility and motherhood had plotted against Ra to learn his secret name in order to give his throne to her son Horus, the Son of Osiris. Isis had conjured a magical, poisonous snake-bite wound to Ra that only she had the antidote to and the only way she gave him the antidote was to tell her his Secret name.

Another Myth about Ra is that he rides in solar vehicle-boats known as the mandjet and mesektet, or morning and evening boats. One of them was for travelling the sky and the other was for travelling the Egyptian Underworld, where he is said to have merged with the God Osiris.

Ra was considered a Creator god that brought all forms of life to existence by speaking their secret names, and it was believed by some that he had created himself. He was considered creator of the Heaven and Earth, and many pharoahs would proclaim to be "Amen-Ra" where the word Amen means true witness to the creation as well as Ra is believed to be meant as "creator, or creative power."

Some people go so far as to equate the Eye of Ra with the all seeing eye and other symbolism.
The eye of horus and the eye of Ra are both known as the same thing.

The Eye of Ra or Eye of Re is a being in ancient Egyptian mythology that functions as a feminine counterpart to the sun god Ra and a violent force that subdues his enemies. The Egyptians often referred to the sun and the moon as the "eye"s of particular gods. As the sun, the Eye of Ra is a source of heat and light, and it is associated with fire and flames. It is also equated with the red light that appears before sunrise, and with the morning star that precedes and signals the sun's arrival.
Eye of Ra

on a website i found, there is a translated hieroglyphic prayer engraved in the Tomb of Shepenmut.

You God of Life, you Lord of Love, All men live when you shine. You are the crowned King of the Gods. The goddess ISIS embraces you, and enfolds you in all seasons. Those who follow you sing to you with joy, and they bow down their foreheads to the earth In gratitude for your radiant blessings. O RA, You the King of Truth, the Lord of Eternity, The Prince of Everlastingness, You Sovereign of all Gods, You God of Life, you Creator of Eternity, You Maker of Heaven. All the Gods rejoice at your rising. O RA, You giver of all life, The Earth rejoice when it sees your golden rays People who have been long dead come forward with cries of joy to behold your beauties every day. You go forth each day over Heaven and Earth. O RA God of Life, you Lord of Love, All men live when you shine.

Sacred Temple of Ra

Some people say that a continuation of Ancient egyptian mystery school teachings exist today, with knowledge given by "Ra the great teacher." there are secret societies who revere ra even to this day.

Jeeze, if people were missing some teeth, Atum or Amun might sound like Adam....from the bible. Amun Ra was the god of the poor and needy. Funny that the eye of Ra is on our money. Well, money does help the needy some times I suppose. Also strange that the Christian prayers end in Amen....say that without teeth. Some of the Pagan people back two thousand years ago referred to Jesus as Amun. That is because he taught the common folk.

Cheerleaders used to say ...Rah Rah...Rah Rah Rah.

I like studying the old gods to try to figure out why people were following their ways. Amun Ra was supposedly a good and powerful deity.....to the common people.

It's funny how the mysticism and symbolism of ancient Egypt is integrated into western society, but it's relatively absent from the place it originated - Egypt/Sudan (except for the "pockets" of society where rural nomads still retain the traditions of past cults, and the modern neopagan revival of ancient Egyptian religion called Kemetism).

It's as if the "higher ups" have a fetish for pagan symbolism.

Rome is littered with obelisks. This city houses the most obelisks out of any other place. 8 Egyptian obelisks in total reside in Rome with 5 Roman obelisks.

Since removing obelisks from their place of origin wasn’t enough, why not construct your own - the American way; especially since you know the mantra, America always does things bigger and better. The Washington Natural Monument is the world’s tallest obelisk standing at an incredible 555 feet (taller than King Khufu’s Great Pyramid). Wouldn’t Imhotep be proud?

Also, an emblem of Thoth is located on the door of the Library of Congress: John Adams Building.

Cleopatra’s Needle (in actuality, this is not even Cleopatra’s obelisk, it’s falsely named) belonged to a king by the name of Thutmoses III who reigned a thousand years before her, with inscriptions from the reign of Ramses II. There are three obelisks residing in London, Paris, and New York City collectively known as Cleopatra’s Needle.

Additionally, like you mentioned, the pyramid on the dollar bill with the The Eye of Providence (or the all-seeing eye of God) – The Eye of Providence serves as the cap stone to an unfinished monument with 13 steps, known as a pyramid. This can be traced all the way back to ancient Egypt and the Eye of Horus/Ra as many of you know.

Ancient Egyptian symbolism is prevalent in many places.

ok.. the hysteria around ra is soo annoying...let me put this right

firstly, ra is a secondary god...from the later stages of creation...not the creater god

we have

Ptah of memphis, from the early kingdom....then Atum from helipolis in the old kingdom.....
then Amun througout the rest of egypt

these were the major creater gods of AE

now ra was introduced during the Atum period of the old kingdom..atum - ra
atum was the creater god..emerged from the mound and created air/moisture, earth and heavens

now get this

to see/percieve the creation...atum created Ra...

depending on the era and location of the texts...ra was important because the dead king joins the sun in its underworld journey, in the boat of gods

so ra was part of the creation..on a same level of importance as the king...
the cycles of ra..and the cycle of life went hand in hand

so no sun worship..

I wouldn't want people worshipping me after i open some ancient doors and fullfill some prophecies.

But i doubt that wouldn't stop people from doing it anyways.

Interesting thread.

Lets hope we all don't die in the coming invasion. (100% serious)

Take it easy guys. BTW plenty of nubian temples found some miles south of egypt. Huge lion worshiping cult.

You might find that interesting considering Lions and catlike beings/animal god monuments are scattered throughout egypt.

if your discussing the eye of ra............then top scholars still discuss this point

whether there is one eye...whether it differs between sun and moon

but the eye of ra is an aspect of hathor

hathor was the original isis...hathor had many faces...one of the main face was her angry side..the lion sekhmet.

so the eye of ra...is sekhmet

Part of the lion mysticism can be found in the Ezekiel part of the bible. Along with a bull, Eagle(Ra), also a man.

No doubt there's a connection.

The moon eye is supposively Thoth in some circles.

the thing is

if you know how the religons of egypt started and finished...you can see why gods were added, replaced etc etc

the most important thing was

conscious divine creation...was ptah from memphis

the big bang theory...that was atum from helipolis

when the king became more elitest in the old kingdom...the cult in helipolis...gave divine status to the king

they solarised the religion

and changed most of the gods

hathor...became isis
sokar..became osris

anyway..before i go off on one...ra is only important to christianity..well catholics

the father = osiris (dead king)
the son = horus (the living king)
the Holy spirit = Re (the sun)

the three important gods/peole, in the rule of maat (order) in egypt...they brouht the nile, they made crops grow etcetc....

peace

No he wasn't. That guy was an ET, and actually a group of them. One of them led them out of Egypt, for example. He demanded allegiance to him for conquering lands and taking people's cities and homes away, and lives.

Ra was most likely an Et hybrid war mongler, possibly bloodline ancestor.

The Terra Papers - Hidden History of Planet Earth 1

I found what Robert Morning Sky had to say very interesting. There are many parts to this presentation. In it he talks about ancient egypt thousands of years ago. And Ra being forced to give up his power, so he set up his children with control of the money and they became the Rothchild lineage. And he set up adminstrators/pharoahs and they became the Rockerfeller lineage.

But the stone masons, freemasons, were Gecko's ie lizzies, and they overtook the whole system.

I suppose the elite think they're gods but they're not.
