It's about respect! Who is this cleric to disrespect those men? Why was it (edit pentagon's (done editing) place to invite a Muslim cleric to speak? IF, and that is a HUGE IF, any of those men were muslim it would have been up to the family to have a cleric there... one of their choosing who was NOT going to disrespect our men.

I would like to see the certified translation, and, find out who translated and certified it.

All religions carry inherently insulting heresy towards the others. That's how religion is supposed to work --especially an unreformed religion like Islam.. If none of the fallen soldiers was Muslim, it's a gross insult to the families to invite a Muslim cleric to the funeral to recite a prayer. No amount of good intentions compensates for the stupidity of doing that.

If this is true ..which it seems to be It represents 1 rule for 1 , 1 rule for another.....can you even imagine a Christian Minister /pastor being invited to a muslims funeral/rememberance service?

Most likely they would be beheaded as an infidel.

I don't have to stir up hatred, the Muslims do that on their own quite nicely. But, I'm not blaming the Muslims in this case. I'm blaming the CURRENT ADMINISTRATION! I put the whole of the blame on whoever invited him to speak at all!

I would like to point out Muslims & Christians worship the same God.
As such we are not Infidels but "Ahl-Al-Kitab" or People of the Book.

Yes.

Sometimes I think morons are running the show. Why put someone at a service, who is going to have a bulls-eye on him, from the get go?

Its a nice gesture,but unfortunately people are questioning exactly what was said. I would like to hear from someone who actually speaks Arabic to get a clearer picture.

First off, I don't know where you are getting that people can't proclaim their Christianity. At this very same service.

Audio from the ceremony, which has been circling for at least a few months, includes a U.S. soldier speaking in English; he begins the ceremony by appealing to the "almighty and awesome God" and goes on to honor the fallen, speaking directly to God and invoking Christian scripture in doing so.

And here are the two translations, the first one from the lawyer representing the families, , and the other from an actual translator. I really don't see what the families are complaining about...I don't see anywhere in either translations where he is "damning the SEALS".

Translation from the lawyer

"Amen I shelter in Allah from the devil who has been cast with stones. In the name of Allah the merciful giver. The companions of the fire are not equal with the companions of heaven. The companions of heaven are the winners. Had we sent this Koran to a mountain, you would have seen the mountain prostrated in fear of Allah. Such examples are what we present to the people; to the people, so that they would think. Blessings are to your God, the God of glory of what they describe. And peace be upon the messengers and thanks be to Allah the lord of both universes."

Translation from an Islamic expert.

"I announce the evil by all-aha. By the name of the merciful all-aha. People of hell and people of heaven are not equal (even, not the same), people of heaven are the winners, if we [unintelligible word] the Koran on the mountain, you will see, you will see him in submission and humble of alla-aha's fear. Those (who are in submission) are examples for the people (the public) may these people (the public) remember, praise alla-aha. Alla-aha God of glory, of the people behaviors (he is wondering or questioning the people's behaviors). And peace to the Prophets, thanks to alla-aha, please (asking alla-aha) to forgive him, comfort him and accept him in paradise. [The prayer ends, however this subject was talking to some audience he was telling them I LOVE TO....then the audio ended]."

He really did not curse the men. He said A'udhu billahi min ash Shaytanir Rajim. This means seek Allah’s protection/refuge/shelter from Shaytaan, the Accursed one. It is said before any of the Quran is recited.

if he had cursed the men he would have said La'anatullah not A'udhu Billahi...
