Sometimes...I think our priorities are so screwed up, it's about hopeless to find our national path back to a place of sense and logic. Perhaps the next time, they won't have a couple former SEALs break ranks to save over 20 civilian staffers and we can have a right and proper body count. Would that make it more worthy of attention to at least answer what happened? I'd hope it doesn't have to go that far to warrant proper investigation, beyond political butt covering.

Did you look at any of the other attacks I referenced?

Many of them did have a higher body count....but where was the outrage?

New people in the party then during those other attacks.

Are you actually suggesting that since some other events were ignored that we now ignore every future attack?

The thing is, it isn't you or any other common folk that is starting to be concerned about these things...you are being led and tricked into being outraged by it. Fox News, Limbaugh, Beck and Hannity is manufacturing this outrage for you.

These are not your own emotions, you couldn't have cared less about previous embassy attacks...I doubt you were even aware of them. But this attack...this one that Fox, Limbaugh, Beck and Hannity all jumped on...this is the one you choose to care about. This isn't a coincidence...they have manufactured emotions for you...they have created this outrage for you.

The fact that there were 11 attacks under Bush, and you probably didn't have a second thought about them, or even knew about them, should signal your logical mind that something is not right here.

I'm outraged by it.

I'm outraged there was a stand down and because of it 4 good men died. 2 of them heroes who defied the stand down orders risking their lives to fight off the terrorists and save anyone they could.

I'm outraged our military and politicians watched the 8 hour long attack on HD via their Top Secret internet and did nothing about it. Not a darn thing.

I'm outraged the administration lied and blamed the attacks on a Muslim protest and the Libyan people. A lie that resulted in actual Muslim protests turned riots all over the Middle East.

I'm outraged you're putting people down because they don't get outraged by all the attacks of the past when it's clear you don't care at all only using those peoples deaths for the sake of a political counter point because you're mad that your political party is being attacked. It also comes off as if you don't care about the 4 men who died in Benghazi and that we all should just let it go because your political opponents are using it against your political heroes.

The reason why Benghazi is back in the MSM is because of the scheduled hearings this past week AND shocking whistle blower testimony coming to light.

Washington DC is mostly run by criminals who continue to get away with the wildest things like starting false wars to stripping American rights away and it's only getting more and more obvious as time goes on how criminal they really are. Seriously, it's actually getting hilariously ridiculous how obvious that these people live above the law and that the laws are only made for the 99%, but that 1%, the ones with the $$, they get away with murder, genocide, and grand theft everything.

Everyone knows it, except you apparently. The drones recording the incident was well document. Three whistleblowers have come forward to give testimony of the coverup. They must be quite brave, as other whistleblowers during this admin have ended up dead or suicided Officially, the drones were not armed and therefore not capable of taking out any opposition.

The administration basically told both Susan Rice(UN Ambassador) and David Petraeus(CIA director) what to say.

Not necessarily something the govt has refused to answer, but rather has answered in a way as to obscure the truth.
Why were Rice and Petraeus told to give a different accounting blaming it on the YouTube? Why did they have to be told such a thing? The only answer can be it was to cover up the fact that it was a genuine terror attack fully planned and either the admin was not prepared or they were and let it happen. Given that people were told to stand down, drone operators told to cover specific exits, in fact my former post has the report of a drone operator who says they were there because something was wrong...

These things are pointers.

The truth hurts.

The reason there is such a rabid response to this thread is because people have just been presented information that is contradictory to what they have been told to believe.

They were told to be outraged, because how could an attack on a consulate be allowed to happen...and when they find out that there has in fact been many attacks on consulates and embassies in the past...they get angry. They are angry because they have been lied to, and as a result of those lies they repeated them and now look uninformed because of it.

But instead of directing their anger to those that mis-lead them and fed them lies, it is easier to continue the fake outrage against those that are trying to present the facts. Because in order to direct their anger to where it really belongs, against those that lied to them, they would have to first admit to themselves that they were wrong and that they were duped.

Not many people have the ability to admit they were wrong and even fewer have the ability to admit they were fooled. So this is what we end up with, a continuing cycle of reinforcing the lies so they don't have to admit how very wrong they were.

I thought that just maybe if I presented some facts that showed them their outrage is manufactured, that some would maybe be humble enough to admit their mistakes, but it appears that I was hoping for too much.

The attack was a tragedy, no doubt about it. 4 Americans died during an attack on our country. They join the thousands of Americans who have died in terrorist attacks. The worst of these was committed by a group of thugs that actually learned to fly in our country. Americans have died and will continue to die, it sucks, but we are at war and that means casualties. So we try to learn from our mistakes and improve the system. As for politically motivated hearings, it's a waist of time and money. It's always the same gang who still think were a bunch of lemmings. The American public has to many sources of information now. Some people IN BOTH PARTIES need to figure that out.

You mean like Petraeus and Rice telling us the attack was spontaneous uprising due to a Youtube? I wonder if they even get YouTube in Libya. I can tell you from information I personally have that Tunisia, a neighboring country could not even get YouTube on their networks. However they can have fb. Tunisia has a strong communications network and even hosted a comm conference in Tunis.
Of course that was before the disposition of the President there. It is a fact that govt monitored the Internet to some degree. Maybe they have more freedom now.
