The Dow is NOT an economic indicator. The reason the Dow is doing "so well" is because corporations are buying back their own stock, and the value of the Dow is GROSSLY overvalued. A crash the likes of which we have never seen is coming. Believe the hype if you want to.

What he said! ^
Didn't we argue this extensively in another post here -------> www.abovetopsecret.com...

Red Flag: "a crash the likes of which we have never seen coming"

Fear Mongering Gone Wild

The Dow Jones is a great indicator of 30 USA corporations.

Now is not a good time to ignore the Dow 30 just because it doesn't fit your

brain dead narrative.

YAY the economy is going gre-. . wait, what?

What's the number of people on food stamps?

You are correct Beez.

We have too many people on food stamps.

However, we are creating jobs and the USA GDP is growing at around 2.5% in spite of

the End of the World preached by Obama due to the Sequester Monster.

The sequester has nothing to do with the economic ruin we are in right now.

We can blame Obamacare, the housing bubble, entitlement spending on the ruin we are in.

Sorry. No rainbows and unicorns for me.

Pfft...

I have some prime sandy beaches all over Arizona to sell you if you equate the DOW with Main Street.

I couldn't have said this any better!!! That's why I'm reporting Terminals post.

102 post in this thread and 3 flags....the OP has 1 star....doesn't seem like my fellow ATS'ers believes this crap nor do I. In my opinion just like Gold when it started going down...and you had the big boys telling people to sell...because they want your gold. They're playing the market....just like their doing now. False hope. Our economy is in the tank...there is too much paper out there and nothing to back it up.

False hope!!!!!!

A little over the top there.

"Economic Ruin" I'm guessing you didn't grow up during the Great Depression.

Great Depression : Unemployment 25%

Regarding the housing bubble: It took about 5 years but we jumping out of the

Housing Bubble.

Home prices are rising. Home values are rising.

We have a long way to go but we are heading in the right direction.

Sequester Job Layoffs?

You will see furloughs and that's it.

The big, bad Sequester Monster was a myth created by Obama that backfired.

Stop drinking the Obama Kool-Aid.

you then, have nothing to worry about....Kool-Aid???.....seems the wealthy and powerful were affected by the cuts to air traffic controllers, which had an actual affect on profits, so that cut was immediately abolished...explain how that was myth?

I'm glad you brought that up.

3 Flags + 1 Star = Good Jobs Report does not follow Obama Narrative

Obama Armageddon: Sequester will crash the U.S. Economy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Um................................nope.

The Sequester was the right thing to do.

Just ask Moodys and S&P rating agencies. The U.S. Federal Budget Deficit is falling.

Read that article why the Dow is doing so well.

The U.S.Economy is growing at around 2.5%.

Jobs are being created.

Now is not the time for Doom & Gloom.

The market is doing so well because the federal reserve is pumping 85 billion dollars of printed money into it monthly.

The participation rate for jobs is at 1979 levels! That’s not a growing economy. These data points provided by the government are so manipulated, its not even funny.

Argentina stock market rose 75% this year. They must be doing a fantastic job!!!! NOT, its called inflation and that’s what id does, inflates stock prices as well as all commodities

Keep going. US Economy GDP jumped over $16 Trillion.

Our economy is the envy of the world.

We have a Natural Gas BOOM in the USA Economy. Fracking is on the move.

Keystone Pipeline is on the way.

What does religion have to do with "free market" capitalism?

I mean, I don't disagree, CAPITALism is doing great...money is begetting more money...a half a thousand dead Bangladeshis are a testament to that fact. That there is a hefty sum of pensions that won't have to get paid out!

Ask Mayflower, Arkansas just how glorious the Keystone Pipeline is, eh? I imagine the residents down there would have a long LONG list of points they'd be happy to cover on the topic ..if ever given forum to share them.

....of course, that'll have to wait until they all HAVE homes again to connect to the internet from, huh?
Some of your examples are ludicrous on the face of it.

Secular Progressives: Central Planned Government

Intimidation, control, confiscation of parental rights. Re-writing the laws, one agency

at a time.

Best Examples: Senator Dianne Feinstein and Obama

And why cant we invest in a new railway system? New high speed trains across country? Jobs could be plentiful in that area!!

High Speed Trains = Boondoggle

We will build the Keystone Pipeline instead.

The USA will be energy independent by 2020.

We are definitely not moving in the right direction.

All improvements are cosmetic. Unless we get spending under control and a government that doesn't want to take all our freedoms away, the "face" of improvement will be nothing mor than an illusion.

I'm not all cheery optimistic about the economy because more indicators other than the Dow need to be apparent.

So, there really is no Keystone Pipeline? Hmmm......

Are Natural Gas prices high or low?

The real estate market booming again? True or False?

Stop being a Mr. Crankypants.
reply to post by TauCetixeta

OMG, nobody...but NOBODY could be this dense and continually be on threads about the economy unless they had nefarious reasons for doing so.

Nobody said there wasn't a Keystone Pipeline, but that is just temporary jobs for some Americans. Keystone transports highly corrosive tar sands from Canada to the ports in the Gulf of Mexico, where it is shipped to other places like China and India. How is this helpful to our economy? They didn't even buy the pipes from an American company, they're using sub-standard piping from an Indian firm. Can we say future environmental disaster of epic proportions coming to a mainstream media news channel near you??

Natural gas prices were at all time highs, making it very expensive for the average American until just recently, when the prices took a dive. Fracking is destroying our environment, and creating a glut in the market which will reduce the bottom line for nat gas companies and make it impossible to make a profit. Those dummies, in their greed, are shooting themselves in the foot, and they'll stop production, forcing the price up again.

The real estate market "boom" you speak of is not a "boom" at all. Banks own most of these houses, or private investors who turn around and rent them. This is not indicative of the average American family having the ability to own and maintain their own house. It is creating a land of renters. This also is not indicative of anything other than the destruction fo the American dream.

Crankypants? Or somebody who can actually see through the steaming pile of nonsense you are trying to tout as "proof" of a fluorishing economy. Sorry, you're gonna have to tell your bosses that nobody's buying the poo you are selling.
