This is eerily similar to the Greifswald ufo sighted over that nuclear plant in Greifswald, Germany. Check it out and let me know what you think. I would wager the same species is behind this tech as well. Unless of course someone made this masterfully with CGI using the model of the germany sighting.

I agree with you 100%. If they had been in a locked formation and then took off suddenly at a gazillion mph (as this clearly wasn't CGI with all that camera jiggling and focusing)...but they didn't... Thanks for the insight, gortex, and the specific information is way cool.

peace,
AB

ps - Oh no, now I have to be scared of your Avatar again... Eeeek!!! vampire bats are REAL!!!!!! Not a bat? Still...EEEEEEK!!!

FYI, this can now be done easily with software.....unfortunately, for ufology. You can apply many different filters at different frames in the video. You can even fake camera jiggling altogether. Videos like this are a dime a dozen & in Europe and Russia where copyright and piracy is a lot more lenient than in the US. Its no coincidence that underpaid animators, CGI specialists etc upload a lot of fake sightings to Youtube.

Well, that's good to know. And here I thought I was beginning to get a handle on what could be computer generated and what could not. *sigh* Thanks for the info!

If you saw one of those orb saucers in action, you'd think you were on acid or crack.

A single pixel would prove remarkable resemblance indeed.

How exactly are they used for fighter jet training? Are the ones we see in the OP's vid being used for such a purpose? What kind of "fighter jet training" could such a display possibly be useful for? What is your explanation for how these flares/balloons/whatever they are seem to defy the wind you can clearly hear in the OP's vid? If it was that windy down at the bottom of the hill where they were filming from, surely it'd have been even windier up where this object was hovering?

Rather than these things being flares, they look more like the "balloons" that were filmed here.

www.youtube.com...

Were these floating objects being used for "fighter jet training"?

ps. Regarding your second vid clip, what kind of flares could maintain the "Y" pattern seen from 0.47 until the end? And where are the jets involved in these exercises? Are those filming conveniently leaving them out of the footage?

Here you can see either a fighter or missile intercept the flares @ 2.07 , video shot over Lake Ladoga 2010.

Here we see the same type of interception @ 2.07 , video shot 2011

Here we see the flares moving with the breeze ... From 5.40

The case became clear. came from Russia said, "Dear Bjorn! This is a very terrestrial objects - big flares with the parachutes, dropped for the training in aerial shooting by our interceptors. Such Claster of flares called in a Russian military slang "lustra" ("chandelier"). Place of maneuvers - only over the big water surfaces (other wise parts of flare can made a fire on the earth), usually over Ladoga lake. "

The video you posted appears to be of Mylar balloons reflecting light from the Sun so no they wouldn't be used for fighter jet training

So, the Russian military is training its pilots to shoot down or intercept flares? And the purpose of that would be?

Ask them .

The combined arms exercises in the Black Sea coincided with a “huge” long-range strategic aviation drill by the Russian Air Force, Russia Today reported. A range of aircraft, including the supersonic Tu-160, Tu-95MC, Tu-22M3, Ilyushin in-flight refueling tankers, A-50 AWACS aircrafts, Su-27 fighter jets and supersonic MiG-31 interceptors conducted more than 60 missions at three ranges in various regions of the country

You seemed so confident that military exercises are all that is occurring here that I thought you might have been able to supply the details. I know military exercises are usually nothing but military exercises, but they are also a ready-made cover for any extra-curricular activity a military might take part in.

It's always flares /swamp gas/ Venus

Not always , sometimes its lanterns / skydivers / balloons

Sometimes? You mean to say it might, occasionally, be UFOs?

Steady on. Your perpetual, debunking attitude seems to be cracking up.

Good catch! I think you nailed it. I was thinking Chinese sky lanterns, but your explanation makes more sense.

The OP video reminds me of this...

I won't say it is the same, but I will say it's similar..

This is the relevant information about this video. Footage recorded by witness
Alexander Barykin on April 25, 2013 while fishing with friends on the Volga river
n Harabali, Astrakhan region, Russia. According to Alexander´s testimonial they
were fishing that afternoon in that place while watching the full moon in a beautiful
view. This short video by Alexander shows the place moments before the sighting.
.

Alexander said that suddenly the cluster of lights appeared all at once, not one by
one but all at once, they got surprised and took the video No. 1 till the lights faded
away, he thought the UFO was gone and turned off the camera, talked with his
friends about the sighting but 2 minutes later the lights appeared again, he took
the video 2. They never heard any sound before, during or after the sighting.

Alexander Barykin uploaded the videos to his Youtube channel the same day and
immediately created a huge viral, many copies began circulating on the Internet
but none mentioned his name as the original videographer. I got his information
and videos on April 25 a couple of hours after he uploaded the footage thanks
to the hour difference in both countries. Alexander decided to remove his two
original videos from his Youtube channel due to the viral created and the huge
amount of messages he received on his channel, I think he wanted some peace.

Important to mention that witness / videographer Alexander Barykin is homonym
of the famous defunct russian rock singer and songwriter so don´t be confused.
This is Alexander´s Youtube channel:
www.youtube.com...

In my opinion these lights are not flares due to the long time they were there more
than 5 minutes as the video 1 shows. All the lights appeared at once and faded
away all at once, then reappeared all at once for another 5 minutes till they faded
again all at once. Pretty amazing for simple flares i must say unless they were
a new worldwide Guinness Record.

Sorry free spirit I normally agree with your opinions but not on this , the formation in the OP video looks to me to be the same as the formations seen yearly near St.Petersburg that seem to be part of an annual training exercise around the lake Ladoga area .

In this video we see two formations of lights similar to the OP video but from this years exercise near St.Petersburg .

How they stay up there that long I don't know but they do and I believe they are flares .
In my post above I show that they are descending and at one point they are intercepted by something , probably a dummy rocket which I believe is there purpose .

Hello gortex, i was expecting your reply. I´m sorry my friend but it seems to me
you jut debunked yourself by saying: " How they stay up there that long I don't
know but they do ". If you don´t know as a fact then to me there is something
missing in your judgement, some answer that you can´t find or provide in this case
to explain the long time this cluster of lights were there all of them whithout turn
off. Or how they faded away all of them at once just to reappear together for another
five minutes and fade again together at the same time. I said in my opinion they are
not flares must be something else, it seems we have different opinions but the
sighting remains inconclusive.

And you posted this video of a similar cluster of lights two of them in Saint Petersburg
from March 25, 2013. do you know how long this sighting lasted ? This video is a copy,
the original by russian witness monplezirvideo wich recorded two videos for about 8:85
minutes long and not only that, there are 12 videos of this Saint Petersburg March 25
sighting by multiple witnesses in different locations, these are the videos by monplezirvideo.

www.youtube.com...

www.youtube.com...

Then I have to ask you: Military flares over the second most important city in Russia for
more than 8 minutes long ? I don´t think so but it´s my opinion and I respect yours as well.
Unless the russian military make an official statement recognizing they released flares over
the city on March 25 or on April 25 over Haribali, Aztrakhan region the two sightings remain
unexplained, of course in my opinion.
