Lets say America was at war. Lets say there were enemy combatants on American soil.
Would it or would it not be your civic and patriotic duty to take up arms and defend your homeland. Particularly if it was a proclaimed war by the U.S. government.

Yes.

There would be plenty of troops on the ground, but I think it would be in your best interest to be prepared to defend your town or neighborhood until they arrived.

A little more detail where I'm going with this.
ยท President Richard Nixon officially declared a "war on drugs" in 1971,

I have this crackhead friend we'll call him Brett. One day he comes up to me and he says that he is really unhappy to be addicted to crack. He wants nothing more than to make those responsible for his addiction pay.
He then says to me wouldn't it be lawful for him to go to some meth cooks house and put a cap in him. He said that since there was a war on drugs a meth cook would be an enemy combatant.
The thing that made me bring this up was a story I read today. It was about a lady that went to her sons heroin dealers house and beat him wit a baseball bat.

You would think that she could have used the enemy combatant defense.
