Is Neo-liberal economics (trickle down economics) on its way out?

I certainly don't want to defend trickle-down economics (or neoliberals or conservatives, for that matter; all three are things I despise) but, as interepid pointed out, trickle down economics was pioneered by conservative politicians such as Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher.

The best part of trickle down economics is when those at the top pee on your leg and tell you it's raining. It's trickling right down your leg.
