1) Chechnya isn´t a country, it is a region in Russia - a region, with lots of oil and minerals.
2) I doubt US would want to invade Russia.

Chechnya is a region in Russiathat wanted independence, although Russia did not want to let it go, as many other regions in Russia would like to do the same and that region is rich with minerals and oil. So there was a war after terrorist attacks in Russia, after which the pro-Moscow government was installed in Checnya and all the separatist leaders of Checnyans were killed.

Chechnyans are are a nation on their own - their nature and looks are different from Russians, like Georgia, although they are part of Russia, which means by citizenship they are citizens of Russia. There are still chechnyan groups out there who want independence, although they are working underground or not actively on it.

Attacking Chechnya would be the same as attacking Russia and if US decided to something like that, it would be extremely dumb move. Probably Russia will just tighten the grip over its region.There are millions of people of Russian origin all around the world, you can not control all of them...

I think its more of a sarcastic thread given that Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya etc were invaded/liberated because terrorists originated there apparently (allegedly)

The USA used the pretense of terror to get the backing from the public to rape them of their resources and install western banking systems to put them in debt.

Russia/Chechnya are already in debt, there is no need to liberate them. Though i would imagine a fair few americans would like them turned into a glass bowl because of the alleged actions of two guys.

I'm very scared and frightened about this..

It wont be about Chechnya, their mental stability or their environment - It will be about Islam, and Islam only.

Then they will say we have to stop this (an unstoppable problem) which then makes the problem worse and gives you, the American citizens less 'freedom'/ privacy.

Whether or not this attack has been set up or these two people really did do this alone - it will get span, twisted and manipulated to fit the agenda - You will see the transition of media coverage from the persons background to the questions about Islams ideologies, I see it happening already. Its all to to further their atrocities on foreign land on the false pretence of freedom.

Well no offence but one liners are generally frowned upon here at ATS, especially when it is the OP's thread in question (one line and a word) maybe it wouldn't have been so hard to add a bit more substance in your original post?

Cabin gave you an excellent answer to your question so unfortunatly I have nothing more too add other than that Chechnya will not be invaded by anyone but a possible (larger) Russian military occupation, that though would have no connection to 2 terrorists activities in the US... unless it was a really lame excuse to do so.

Dont really think the Chechnens would really notice the difference between being bombed by America or Russia anymore, this is where Russia goes to train soldiers and test the latest military hardware, Chechnya is a scary place. Think of it like what the U.S and NATO did to the former Yugoslavia, but Russia has been doing it for 20 years.

I'm dismayed by the lack of education you apparently display here. Chechnya is an administrative unit in the federal state which is known as Russia. Feel free to invade THAT. It has been tried.

I don't think they chechnya has anything to worry about. Since the feds Have determined the boys have been in Afghanistan and that part of the world. They were born in Chechnya not raised. I would be more concerned with the Cell being radicalised in the US More than anything.

True. I remember few years ago when i saw an interview with one of the high-profile Chechens politics. He said that respect is measured by how many Russians a person killed. They actually think that the whole Russia belongs to them and was given to them by Alah.

When someone is raised by some of these crazy 'laws', it's not that weird if that person becomes a psychopath.

And on topic: there's no reason to invade them and you're probably just mocking US politics. These were just two individuals and not the terrorist cell and they got them.

No they'll never attack Chechnya because Russia hasn't been severely weakened by sanctions and has something approaching a viable army. Russia however may well take the chance to keep the rebellious region under thumb
