Part of me thinks India should do the same thing and put some Observation Tents up in Chinese Territory but you never know with China - it may end up with a totally over the top response.

Not that i am pro violence but if they are in Indian territory, what is to stop India killing (or arresting) them? Surely they are an invading force under any International Laws? Couple of airstrikes, problem solved.

Another round of Flag meeting is scheduled on Friday ..that's makes decision whether peace or clash ..because they are already passed 10 days in our Territory

and India Strongly says there is no withdrawal of Border developments

maybe we will wait for till Friday

I've always thought that the India / China / Pakistan border issues are one of the most volatile ongoing disputes and a potential flashpoint that could have far reaching global implications.

I genuinely feel that one of these regular border tiffs could escalate into something far worse - I hope I'm wrong and common sense prevails.

I do not think it will for one very addictive reason - development.

Both India and China are in far better places in terms of economics, standards of living, global power, etc, etc than ever before in their respective histories. And all projections only show this continuing to get better and better for them as the years go by.

I am not explaining this well so lets look at China, as an example. The Party Leadership all like shiny new cars, they like Ipads, Iphones, foreign holidays, foreign shopping trips, basically everything that is available in Modern life. Why would they risk all of that when it has only just become available? When you haven't had things available for decades and then they suddenly become freely available, populations are generally loathe to give them up again.

For this reason, India - China will never escalate into major open conflict. As nuclear powers, they both cancel each other out and they each now this.

These current tensions are all to do with gunboat diplomacy which the Chinese currently appear to have reverted to. It is basically playing International hard ball so future negotiations. It is for this reason i think India should do exactly the same thing - cross the border and set up manned Observation Posts. If that makes sense?

Indian analysts say a Chinese intrusion could be a response to New Delhi’s drive to step up road-building near their de facto border to ferry Indian troops and counter China’s build-up of military infrastructure.

Also, this might be payback from China in regards to India's supports to Vietnam a few months back in the South China Sea.

If only these two giants to work together for the betterment of their own people instead of falling into some Anglo's traps.

How on earth do you come to the opinion that this involves 'Anglo's' in any way?

'Anglo's' are NOT repsonsible for all the disputes that occur in the world.

Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde on Saturday said that the incursion by the Chinese troops in the Ladakh region in Jammu and Kashmir would be decided during the Flag Officers meeting of both the armies

Sushilkumar Shinde expects Flag Officers meet to resolve Chinese incursion issue

But India canceled the last flag meeting ..and our Union Minister says Flag meeting can resolve ..but Army offcials are not Interested in Flag meetings

In an unprecedented and uncharacteristic move, India's air-defence swung into action by activating an air-strip near the Actual Line of Control at the Indo-China Border. A fighter aircraft landed at the strip with three top officials of the Indian Air Force. The historic flight by Group Captain, SC Chafekar; AN-32 of 48 Squadron, popularly known as the ’Camels’, landed at Daulat Beg Oldie the highest landing airstrip in the world at 16,200 feet (4,960) metres after 43 years,

China's submarines in Indian Ocean worry Indian Navy was reported 7, April 2013

China has set up a network of ports/facilities in Bangladesh (Chittagong), Myanmar (Sittwe and Coco Island), Sri Lanka (Hambantota), Pakistan (Gwadar) and has also secured docking rights in Seychelles, in what some describe as the culmination of the ‘String-of-Pearls’ strategy.

www.hindustantimes.com... which has a pretty good article about the subs.

The tents and subs are a form of probing to intimidate and gather response times along with intent from the government of India. Also with radio intercepts from satellites and airborne receivers much of India's command structure locations can be determined and mapped for a surgical strike if the occasion should arise every time they transmit.. Just my humble opinion and I do hope it is all just posturing.

Plueeze...Those border were drawn by whom? There was no India as a nation when those borders were drawn and there was no Pakistan under the British Raj. This is unfinished Great Game from century past and only India seems to be the only nation to feel happy for their ex colonists to walk all over them. Some of them even called themselves anglowallah.

Plueeze...Those border were drawn by whom?

Indians in their independance negotiations.

There was no India as a nation when those borders were drawn

And if Indians had wanted to go back to those pre-Raj days they could quite easily have re-drawn their own internal borders or devolved into seperate naition states etc in the 60+ years they have been independant - that they haven't suggests that the majority of Indians are quite happy with the current situation - if they aren't it is up to them to do something about it.

and there was no Pakistan under the British Raj.

So what?

There was no Pakistan in post-independance India - that there is now is proof that changes to these borders and nationality are a sub-continent matter and NOT subject to 'Anglo' wishes etc.

This is unfinished Great Game from century past

This is a matter between China and India - that you choose to apportion blame for this dispute on 'Anglo's' suggests both paranoia and a certain level of bigotry together with possibly a refusal to accept any level of self-responsibility.

and only India seems to be the only nation to feel happy for their ex colonists to walk all over them

I fail to see how this border dispute has anything to do with the 'ex-colonists' [sic].

. Some of them even called themselves anglowallah.

I really can't be arsed to have the discussion here about the pro's and con's of The British Empire and Raj or Anglophiles in India, start a thread on it and I'd gladly contribute, but I really would like you to explain in a clear and reasoned manner how and why you think these border disputes are anything to do with 'Anglo's'.

Indian officials fear that if they react with force, the face-off could escalate into a battle with the powerful People's Liberation Army. But doing nothing would leave a Chinese outpost deep in territory India has ruled since independence.
QUOTE:
"If they have come 19 kilometers into India, it is not a minor LAC violation. It is a deliberate military operation. And even as India protests, more tents have come up," said Sujit Dutta, a China specialist at the Jamia Milia Islamia university in New Delhi.

"Clearly, the Chinese are testing India to see how far they can go," he said.

That is not China's stated view.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying said Thursday that Chinese troops had been carrying out normal patrols and had not crossed the boundary.

"China is firmly opposed to any acts that involve crossing the Line of Actual Control and sabotaging the status quo," she said at a daily briefing in Beijing as she was repeatedly questioned about the dispute.

Hua said talks to defuse the dispute were ongoing and that it should not affect relations. "As we pointed out many times, the China-India border issue is one which was left over from the past. The two sides reached important consensus that this issue should not affect the overall bilateral relations," Hua said. END QUOTE:

From what I have read India has a weak government already with deep mistrust and divisions between the military hawks and their elected officials...Hopefully the billions in trade between these two giants will make both think before a bigger trigger event is reached. Either way the border incursion and double speak certainly got India's attention....This may get the Indian government off it's butt for modernization of their military; if they can find the money or get the loans..

P.S. I can not get either the A.P. article or Yahoo link to display correctly?
