Seen the guys you were speaking about and they don't look like your run of the mill police officers to me. Those same guys in the camo also had the Red Cross on their backs also.. Maybe they are Police/Army/Humanitarian workers. who knows but I can see exactly what your pointing out

I'm glad you put this out here, because I've been steaming about this on my ride into class. Seems they've declared martial law, yet they won't use those words. Now the military is enforcing civilian laws. Over one guy! This is just a test using fear to see how far they can go. And what better place than the birth place of freedom!

I think that this is a part of a slow buildup that has been going on since the late 80's. Our govt saw the writing on the wall...the cold war was all but over. We needed a new enemy.....cue the middle east! Well....now we are at a point where we have become so fearful that we don't blink an eye when things like this happen because we have been conditioned by events like 9/11 to accept such harsh police/military enforcement. It creates a false illusion of " security" and the majority of Americans seem to think there is nothing wrong with this!
I never thought I'd live to see the day when I could easily confuse a police officer with a soldier. I never thought that we would become so fearful that we would accept this sort of thing. I don't know what concerns me more....the ""terrorists" or the Americans who are being lulled into this false sense of safety. If I live to see 90, I wonder what kind of world I will live to see.
