Thats a major explosion.

They are evacuating the whole town of West. I35 is closed, and the poison control is asking anyone with symptoms to call them.

This is bad. Boston is/was bad. It's all bad. Now, as the American public becomes inundated with these "bad" events; I feel we are becoming conditioned to all the BAD

I am 60 miles directly north of West, Tx and heard the explosion while sitting outside. Actually heard two explosions about 5 min. apart. Thought it was thunder but checked the radar and there was some rain east of me but this was definitely south.

Also, don't see that it has been reported but besides the 60-70 dead, 5 were firefighters and 1 police officer

A really bad day, really bad week. I REALLY need some good news.

Up close video of explosion. Not sure if this is the same one on TV but I believe this is the original. Crazy.

All I can say is that tensions are high, even before the Boston bombing, so it should not be a surprise that people are on their toes.

I wonder if those firefighters were these guys ...

Tommy Alford, who works in a convenience store about three miles from the plant, told CNN that several volunteer firefighters were at the store when they spotted smoke. Alford said the firefighters headed toward the scene and then between five and 10 minutes later, he heard a massive explosion.

"It was massive; it was intense," Alford said.

The timing would be just about right.
