Saudi man held.... I bet a bunch of Saudi's would have been held on 911 had they been alive.....

Saudi's are not without their own level of extremism and IMHO are very well funded. With only 13 (or so) ruling families in Saudi Arabia could not most Saudi's be tracked back to The State at one level or another?

Who knows but I have always thought the Saudi's a lot more responsible for terrorism than the MSM or our Government has told us. This all assumes of course that this Saudi National being held is being held for all the right reasons.

The world isnt on fire. These events do not affect as many people as you might think.

The world is VERY MUCH on fire. Between this, and N Korea, and everything else, this is historically one of the worst periods in the history of humanity - and we are living to see it.

These 'events' KILL PEOPLE. If my daughter had been in Boston, and had happened to go to the marathon, it might have been her injured or killed.

How can you minimize this sort of terrorist violence? I don't care WHO did it, but IT WAS DONE, and it is NOT OKAY or to be brushed aside.
Boo to you.

That's good. Too bad it didn't work out like that for everyone.

livewire.talkingpointsmemo.com...

This is saying otherwise.

"At this time, we haven't been notified of any arrests or anyone apprehended," the spokesperson said.

The New York Post reported that a "Saudi national who suffered shrapnel wounds in today's blast" has been identified as "a suspect in the Boston Marathon bombing." The Boston PD spokesperson did not confirm that report.

Reports of a suspect in custody appear to be false.

talkingpointsmemo.com...

Boston Police say no arrests, no one in custody, contrary to press report.

Yeah, I swear she's being looked after by some kind of guardian spirit. I know lots of people suffered. I know very well she could have been one of them.
I'm not minimizing the devastation of everyone who was impacted, I'm just glad that she's not been subject to the suffering. That's a momma bear for you.

Yeah, I can't imagine having someone you know injured by an event like that.

Saudi's eh? That sounds familiar. You know what else sounds familiar, how about a bomb drill the same day as the bombing?

Boston marathon bombing happened on same day as ‘controlled explosion’ drill by Boston bomb squad

Bomb squad was running “controlled explosion” on the same day
What’s not yet being reported by the mainstream media is that a “controlled explosion” was under way on the same day as the marathon explosion.

As the Boston Globe tweeted today, “Officials: There will be a controlled explosion opposite the library within one minute as part of bomb squad activities.”

Bloomberg news is now saying, “This is very likely a terrorist attack.”

This just in: Obama to address the nation soon. www.usatoday.com...

Actually, I pay attention to world news, regional news (of all regions), and local news.
It IS on fire.
It's a disaster in the making.
but, thanks for your comforting thoughts. I will attempt to remain calm, like I do every day.

For now, I really am logging off.

And I am sure the people in Iraq were alarmed about what happened in their country just as we Americans are as to what happened in ours.

Peace

How can anything be believed? The media is just a sh*t show. One says this then someone denies it or confirms it. Then they won't talk about it again if someone contradicts it. They said it was a confirmed terrorist attack then the president gets on a few minutes later and says he doesn't know who did this or their reasoning, but they will get to the bottom of it. The only thing I can believe right now is the live video footage. There's no way to ever find out the truth.

Both BBC & Sky News reporting Boston Police Department deny they have anybody in custody.

I guess there is lots of confusion around at the moment.

I am just totally amazed that whoever done this has managed to do it. Surely security would have been extra tight?

Thoughts are with the victims families.

You are living in the most peaceful time in human history. If you think things are bad now then you have no idea what has been going on the world for the last few thousand years. Also nobody is being held at this point, not related to the bombing anyway.

I lived in Saudi Arabia for about 5 months in all, (yes, not a lot, but it REALLY sucked living there..)

And I can tell you...though I had the typical Mutawa (?) encounters about how my head scarf was placed...and if I seemed too animated or not..and though it was still the scariest place I have ever lived ..(I had to sign a document that I understood that I could be subject to the death penalty for certain Islamic crimes.....)
and....
I had to wear an Abaya (?)....dressed from head to toe in black..any time I went out of the "western Compound"....and this was in the 90's...

Though I was scared in the KSA...
I STILL don't think they, as a country, are interested in more than making a buck...I think the Saudi Arabia connection must be a front in some way......or this is just a lone nut job...The Saudi's are just a bunch of desert dwellers, (Bedouins), who got a lucky break with oil....but are they, as a people, responsible for the actions of an individual?
