Been on the Boston PD / Fire scanner for over an hour, havent heard that mentioned at all. Lots of suspicious packages, lots of requests for info about a Penske struck, etc ... but nothing like "anthrax".

Like 2 minutes ago a soft spoken police or FD mentioned it on the scanner. I also heard it.

Theyre still declaring code blacks hours after the incident, long after all the causalties from the original dets have been taken to medical facilities??

I heard what sounded like Anthrax too but given the context of the conversation I thought I misheard a similar word.

Cynicaleye are you going to bring anything to the table here or just be the resident Negative Nancy? Those of us listening to the scanner are obviously trying to get info first hand. What are you doing? We all heard something similar and so it can't be discounted off hand given the circumstances? Jeez.. Can you at least bring info to the table instead of muddying the waters in a vain attempt at being your version of "cynical"?

Exactly. If it were an *actual* domestic terrorist group, I would imagine they would strike something federal/government, not a gathering that puts on display the accomplishments of their fellow citizens.

If they go with the "domestic threat" line, I'd be even more skeptical about that story.
I usually wait to listen to the US Gov't message, then I assume the opposite. It served me well.

An eyewitness to the two explosions at the Boston Marathon today said that a “drill” was repeatedly announced before the bombs exploded and that he “thought it was odd” bomb sniffing dogs were in place before the blast.
University of Mobile’s Cross Country Coach Ali Stevenson told Local 15 News, “They kept making announcements on the loud speaker that it was just a drill and there was nothing to worry about. “It seemed like there was some sort of threat, but they kept telling us it was just a drill.”

Yes it absolutely could have been Amtrak and most likely was. I imagine they have shut down the trains.

I'm also going to concede it may have been AMTRAK, very few words could be misheard for Anthrax but that one is certainly plausible.

Hi guys and girls checking in from the UK. Can someone basically round up the facts of what has happened in Boston like put it in bullet points. I'm reading about a Saudi nation being arrested? I've just got in from meal and to be honest I don't have the time to read through 20 pages and my mrs is demanding attention. I don't usually do this I like to have a read but if someone can briefly sum up what happened would be great

Of course there was a drill! This whole scenario wouldn't be complete without that little signature coincidence!

Police are now reporting they are moving the runners to a safe place, back to the hotels, and searching them beforehand.

And I believe I just heard the bag at the ER has been cleared by EOD
