I think she means the fun days where women could sleep around with American soldiers whilst their loving husbands/boyfriends were being killed, maimed and tortured whilst protecting them.

That's because they had to after the war they all went back to there kitchen sinks and became housewives again,
The fun days where over but a lot of soldiers when they came home lost girlfriends and even wives as they ran of with yanks they thought America would be far more exciting than Britain, it wasn't though it was just warmer
You refer to WW2 as 'the fun days'
I think I may be done here.
Oh yeah, such fun! And not sexist in any way, shape or form.

cheer all you like - but that does not negate the inspiration she has been to other women.
She was a hardworker and an achiever.
edit on 14-4-2013 by HelenConway because: (no reason given)
Fairguy woman used to sit behind desks and type or be a nurse, I did all sorts of things work wise that my ole dad would have thought impossible, i remember when i was 16 i wanted to be a boiler maker in the shipyard just cos my dad did it but i was allowed so i went back to school for another 5yrs and came out with exams up to my arm pits.
Guess what i couldn't find a job so i trained for something else instead, i through all those years of learning down the drain.
After Maggie, women went out and became soldiers, lorry drivers, boiler makers and the list goes on and on
