Interesting dream, here are a few thoughts.....
Typically in dreams the fox is a representation of something cunning and sly or hypocrisy in general.
They are smart and guile creatures.
Throughout history the fox as a symbol represents both good and bad elements in different cultures and beliefs.
Christianity associates the fox with Satan because of their trickiness.
In the Shinto faith the fox is affiliated with the deity Inari, kami of fertility.
The Greek god Dionysus was also depicted wearing fox skin which symbolizes new life.
The fox as a totem or spirit guide reminds the person to grasp the concept of unity and the inter-connectedness of all things around us, on all levels.
Dreams of the sun link to conscious awareness, to be drawn to the sun can indicate the search for enlightenment.
It also represents fertility...........just like the fox.

There are very archaic and obscure elements in this dream, but i looked into it furthur and can explain the elements.

As i suggested what will be behind the Sun is a Planet, the planet in question would have been Mars, as this was a counterpart to the Fox Star, this from Sumerian mythology, the name of this star/planet/Deity is Erra.

Erra is a fiery warrior, rebel, hence his association with Mars, and his hidden position behind the Sun. The Fox star was a bridging star of Ursa Major.

My interest in this is when the mantle of radiance of the Fox star is radiant this is an omen of activation for the coming of fiery change

www.mythopedia.info...

The entourage of Erra were the seven vampiric Sebettu, aspects of the first order of primordial chaos, i did a thread on them.

www.abovetopsecret.com...

It's an omen then for rebellion and overthrow of existing order, lurking behind the Sun...a good dream.

There is a Babylon prayer to the Gods of the Night, with regards to Divination;

1 The princes are closely guarded,
2. The locking-bolts lowered, the locking rings placed,
3. (Though previously) noisy, the people are silent,
4. (Though previously) open, the doors are locked.
5. The gods of the land (and) the goddesses of the land,
6. Shamash, Sin, Adad and Ishtar
7. Have entered into the lap of heaven.
8. They do not render judgment, they do not decide a case.
9. The night is veiled.
10. The palace, its chapel, the cella are obscured.
11. The traveler invokes god, but the one (who offers) a decision remains asleep.
12. The judge of truth, father of the impoverished girl,
13. Shamash has entered his cella.
14. The great ones, the gods of the night,
15. Bright Girra,
16. Warrior Erra

There the Sun is Shamash.

Erra is later identified as a particular star, the Fox in the Wagon constellation (or even the planet Mars (via his identification with the Fox star, which is also equated with Mars).

The wagon constellation was Ursa Major.

www.academia.edu...

Thus the dream was about no longer following...the way of this fox.

Sorry, that's just not correct at all, from personal experience and seeing in the flesh and in constructions, of dreams experienced, which also had significance and meaning. Many times over.
From listening to the dreams of those around me, even those had vast significance.

You're trying to sound intellegent and forceful with your opinion, but your opinion is incorrect.

No, it isn't.

I don't even have to argue with you, because while I use logic and science-based evidence, you use your personal opinion. Which is worthless.

Edit: Give me one good example. One that is convincing. Bet you can't.

I'd love to see the doc so i can figure it out if it influenced my dream or not,

But this dream was a long time ago and its awesome to see all the references on the internet about looking beyond or behind the sun, wow.

Dream Update
Going on the meaningless subject, It wasn't a dream where I thought wow this was so vivid it must have some meaning. It was a dream where I haven't felt that great in before, and when the fox said "It's behind the sun" In the dream i wondered about the significance of the sun to our world physically and spiritually. Weather it was just a sun we use to live or if there was real meaning when you go past it. I did fail to mention that I wondered if a higher being "god/alien" resided behind the sun. Sort of like a person behind the screen watching what the light source projecting onto us. I also wondered is the Truth behind the sun, the truth about our lives.

And last I thought when waking up that day was "is whats behind the sun the answer to everything."

I was never searching for something material, it could have been knowledge of some sort or mythology meaning behind the dream like someone posted. I understand dreams are just dreams but I think I learned a lot from all these replies.

The reason of my posting this dream specifically is because its the only one that caused me to do some soul searching as to what the answer was. Perhaps someone else had a similar dream its better to post it than to keep the dream silent unless thats what you want.

I think magical worldviews are harmful. Regardless of whether or not you personally believe your dreams are reality-based, or the whispers of some divine being guiding you on your spiritual journey, or you think it's just a neat little dream, SOME people take their dreams too seriously. And SOME of those people are using this forum to perpetuate that idea. And that is something I will ALWAYS fight against.

It's not that I mind people sharing their dreams, it's actually kind of neat. It's when people start giving their dreams credibility that I can no longer remain silent. Because when something with no credibility is seen as being credible, credulity evolves. And credulity is everything which is wrong with this world.

Your dream might not be harmful on it's own, but eventually some bigot will have a dream that allows him to live his life comfortably subjugating women and hating minorities. It always #ing happens.

That said, I don't want "silence" you, but I do feel justified in telling people to their face that their ideas are wrong. Does that make me petty? Fine. Because I believe in earnest that it's the responsible thing to do.

I agree with Amanda. You are certainly forceful of your opinion on others. Several dozens of cultures and religions have held spiritual significance on your dreams, and dream recall. Are you officially prejudicing dozens of religions with your own of 'science-based' evidence? I do have a question. If that evidence was based in "science", but science was found out to be a sham, or controlled and dumbed down, what would that say then about your credibility to be so aggressive to people?

You should be a little more tolerant of other peoples views on a public forum, and a little less prideful + assertive of your own.

So you use science based evidence.....so you can PROVE without a doubt with scientific facts that dream are only dreams???....How about you provide just 1 REAL example of this proof you would have. I am not saying that you aren't right, I just dont think you can prove your claim either that's all.....

This is after all the dreams forum. So if you wanna claim what you claim, back it up. Bet YOU cant either...

This conversation could go on forever because this IS about belief....you obviously dont beleive in dreams nor their possible links/meaning to our reallity but a lot of us do. I dont think anyone can provide proof for either side of this coin...so I say let beleivers beleive what they wish.

But nonetheless, this doen't make the OP's personnal opinion worthless at all!

What nonsense.

For thousands of artists the world over, dreams are a source of endless inspiration for their art.

That alone exposes your assertion as utterly meaningless.

Your dreams are nothing. Good for you.

Mine are songs and stories yet written.

OP: That sounds like a lovely dream, but - you told!

Sometimes I have dreamed of going to specific locations and irl about 2 years later actually pass that place that ive never been to before from that dream.

Once after making a connection with a girl after being freinds for so long, the next day we experienced the same exact dream.

Oddly enough sometimes a dream can take me straight out of depression and motivate me to get things done.

In lucid dreaming, I often am able to control the outcome once I figure it out, First thing I do is do a long/fly jump, then usually have sex with a random person that i make pop up out of thin air. I can actually use critical thinking and even think about my day.

Saying dreams are just dreams is like saying your brain is just a brain, no need to dive into it. I know you didnt say that but im just replying to you haha!

Reminds me of a old Twilight movie where there is a equal and opposite earth rotating at the same speed as earth does. You just cant see it and everything is a reverse of our world. Similar yet reflections are off and things are a little different. Don't let the sciences discourage you there is more to the mind that no science can explain.

Thanks for the reply. I completely forgot about that, but to deter people from thinking my dream was influenced by nibiru, this dream came to me somewhere before 2005.

Sooooo EIGHT years later you decide to post it? For almost a decade this has been rattling around in your head?

You realize that this blue marble went around the sun seven or eight times since your dream and nothing out of the ordinary has been seen lurking behind the sun.

Star for you ^-^
Yeah some time has passed, but I'm new to ATS so I decided to share. In that time aside from wondering, I made a trance song about it on FruityLoops and also wrote a short film about an artist trapped in denial eventually leading to behind the sun. I have also made a photoshop picture of the dream for some contest I'd have to do some searching to retrieve it. Also have meditated on the subject.

I didnt mention it here because I have a quite a bit of depression now and I didn't want to waste peoples time about that part.

Anyways still to this day there was something trusting about the fox where I feel if its physical or not, there's some answer to it.

This film has always seemed intriguing:

Doppelgänger/Journey to the Far Side of the Sun

Doppelgänger is a 1969 British science-fiction film directed by Robert Parrish and starring Roy Thinnes, Ian Hendry, Lynn Loring and Patrick Wymark. Outside Europe, it is known as Journey to the Far Side of the Sun, which is now the more popular title.[1][2] In the film, a joint European-NASA mission to investigate a planet in a position parallel to Earth behind the Sun ends in disaster with the death of one of the astronauts (Hendry). His colleague (Thinnes) discovers that the planet is a mirror image of Earth.
The first major live-action film of Century 21 writers-producers Gerry and Sylvia Anderson,[3] noted for Thunderbirds and other 1960s "Supermarionation" puppet television series, shooting for Doppelgänger ran from July to October 1968. With Pinewood Studios as the principal production base, Parrish filmed on location in both England and Portugal. The professional relationship between the Andersons and their director became strained as the shooting progressed,[4] while creative disagreements with cinematographer John Read resulted in his resignation from Century 21.[2]
The film premiered in August 1969 in the United States and October 1969 in the United Kingdom. Criticism has been directed at the parallel Earth premise, which has been considered clichéd and uninspired in comparison to standing precedent in science fiction. Doppelgänger has been interpreted as a partial pastiche of major science-fiction films of the 1960s, such as 2001: A Space Odyssey. However, plot devices and images perceived as emulating such films have been considered poor adaptations of their originals. It has been viewed as a cult film.[5]
Actors and props from Doppelgänger re-appear in another Anderson television series, UFO.[1][6] Although the Andersons added adult themes to the script in an attempt to distinguish Doppelgänger from their earlier child-orientated productions, cuts removed some adult content to permit an A and, later, PG certificate from the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC). The film has had a limited run on DVD.

If something is hiding behind the sun, then it must be playing hide and seek with the millions of astronomers that are watching the sky 24/7

also since the Earth orbits the sun that means that at some point this year we'll be "behind" the sun

anyways interesting dream nonetheless

Millions of astronomers could not see something that was in earths orbit opposite of us. The new satellites out there on the side of the sun have verified there is nothing there not that long ago. Many scientists speculated that there could be something opposite us in the past. No astronomer can see opposite the sun from us from earth.

Read the book, 'Only Love is Real' by Michael Weiss.
Also, 'The Holographic Universe' by Michael Talbot.

There is plenty of science out there that supports the idea that reality is an illusion. Thus it is created within the mind itself. Thus, what makes the dream world any less real than this world?

One day you will die, then you will see.

Until then, there is more to heaven and hell than are dreamt of in your philosophy, Horatio.

Aren't dreams wonderful things. Although they often leave us wondering.. im reminded of a dream I had some time ago. In my dream I was guided by a huge butterfly, who having me by the wrist took me on a flight arround a beautiful garden. I remember feeling nothing but bliss. The garden was very vivid and felt alive. Other than the butterfly and myself the only other creature was a very peaceful looking , cat which we came upon towards the close of my dream. He had a very serene look to him, very knowing. And i just watched this cat for what seemed quite awhile. The dream ended with me glaring into a picture of the very same garden I had just flown about hanging on a wall just as it was very much alive, like looking through a window. I will always rememder this dream. I remember thinking upon waking, I could have stayed there forever..
