It's good to be here. What an awesome site. I'm not a great poster and certainly in the past on other forums, my posts seem to administer the kiss
of death to any thread to which I contribute. However, that suits my preference to watch and learn.
I'm from Australia - I live in the outback and to date have never encountered a UFO or alien. To my chagrin. You'd think that crystal clear night
skies with an absolute minimum of light pollution and absolutely no air traffic would increase the likelihood of my seeing something interesting,
however, to date - no luck.
However, if anyone out there has a telescope, would you mind having a quick squizzy at Betelgeuse? Right now, it seems to be pulsating a little more
than usual - red and white - with what appears to be "sparks" radiating out from it. It could be some sort of atmospheric distortion but I'd like
someone with a little more astro knowhow to take a look if possible. And no, there was nothing in my cup of tea, other than tea!
Thanks and I look forward to contributing.
Cheers - FMB
