A-Rod tied to doping cover up?

According to the NYT former employees of a South Florida anti aging clinic told MLB that Alex Rodriguez had purchased clinic documents to cover up his involvement with performance enhancing drugs and maybe other players were involved in the cover up too. My question is why is the government involved in this investigations and what kind of drugs are involved? Are this mind control drugs?

Any google search will bring up his involvement with steroids, and his link to Human Growth Hormone. This story came out months ago, it's old news by now in the sports world. No body even talks about it at this point.

The only people that care are the Yankees, and they only care because this gives them a bad rep, and they don't want to eat his contract.

ETA***The Feds have been getting involved in a lot of major sports issues dealing with Steroids and HGH. Why, who knows...best guess would be...They have the people capable of getting to the bottom of a fishy situation. Look at the Roger Clemens trial, that last years and it was over lying about steroids.
