We have no money for the unemployed. Forced onto £53 a week, which has also been made harder to claim
We have no money for single, working parents who are in poverty yet work full time.
We have no money for the NHS - Cut backs, over worked under paid staff. Closing of special hospitals which in turn make the patient have to travel to the other end of the country.
We have no money for the disabled - They create tests that are hard to pass and do not vary between illnesses.

But, we have a nice £10 million for Maggie Thatchers funeral, you know - The millionaire bareness

I'm sorry but if there family had any decency, they wouldn't make us pay for this - Their great Maggie Thatcher made millions struggle in hard times, surely they should cough up the money for her wedding, given the hard times we're in now.

Socialism, hard times and austerity isn't for "them"; it is for "us". You get what your country has asked for.

We have no money for anything not even education, but somehow we can come up with money to lasso a space rock and haul it to the moon...go figure!

It's a deep dark rabbit hole of a monster.... I fail to understand where we get the money for some things while others are dying of starvation OR worse.

If they are that desperate to have a state funeral maybe they should take the 10 million out of the foreign aid budget.
It's a drop in the ocean compared to that.
Personally I would prefer to fund neither.
I've been avoiding the tv like the plague since she popped her clogs, pure sick fest.

Based on her ideologies, this is all wrong. Why is the public paying for half the costs, surely it should be tendered out to the private sector, with security provided by g4s.

The official line from Buckingham Palace and Downing Street is that Margaret Thatcher is not being granted a state funeral. And it is true that the Baroness will not lie in state at Westminster Hall, as Sir Winston Churchill did almost 50 years ago. In almost every other respect, however, this is the real thing. Next Wednesday, her body will be taken by gun carriage from St Clement Danes in the Strand, down Fleet Street and into St Paul’s Cathedral. There will be a gun salute at the Tower of London. And the cost of the event will be borne in large part by the taxpayer. Most important of all, the Queen is to attend.
