Booo!

In full, it's only less than a minute long as it is isn't it?

In that case they should just ditch it all together and have a Leslie Phillips jingle betwixt the pop rubbish instead....

I herby nominate....

^ Agreed, Leslie Phillips is a true gentleman, in fact after our independence vote we are planning to claim him on the grounds of having red hair. I say...

You've started me off now. I'm going to take a moment to enjoy someone who really does deserve to be under the heading of "The Best of British".

I don't really get what all the fuss is about..cutting it, not cutting it..

The kids around here have sung the bloody song everytime they go past my house for years! Naturally I'm expecting an upsurge this weekend after the charts have been on, they'll probably even play it for lulz directed at me in the local should I go up on Sunday afternoon.

I might even fork out for one of those awesome wicked witch leg planters, stick it in the garden so it looks like my house really did fall on me. Should raise a chuckle for the cheeky little bleeders that skip past at least..

Yeah....you can get to number one in this country with 200k sales, chart position of a song doesn't really carry great weight in the debate.

200,000 people is still a LOT of people this woman affected, although I suspect (know) that the actual figure that she affected was in the millions.

If you don't think that 200,000 people carry any weight, why don't you come and have a fight with me and my 199,999 friends. You. Fuxxing. Idiot.

Interesting comment in the Daily Mail is interesting...

Interesting that no one is actually examining the core of this division. The Song's own provenance. consider: this song is from a musical aimed at children [in the main]... so, the essence of this is that from an early age we are conditioned to believe that if someone oppressive dies, then one should celebrate... is that not the whole reason for the song in the film? to celebrate the death of an oppressor [of some part of society, in that part of society's opinion] so, if one has issue with it being used in exactly the same was as in the film, then you really have a problem with the film and not those using it against thatcher [which seems perfectly suitable, even if one is politically in favour of thatcher and doesn't agree with the opinion of her being a witch]

Oh dear, that's not working out too well for the 'nays' is it? And all those who perceive that only a small minority detested the woman.

I wonder if the Daily Mail ran the same poll they'd get a different response.

The song got to number two in the charts, close but no cigar.

They only played seven seconds of it and had to go through a lengthy spiel explaining both view points.

Hi there.
Ill post what I said on another thread here...

There's a song that targets Maggie more than this.

Any one heard of The Exploited?? (punk band)

But yeah, if a song is in the charts it should get played.
It may be disstasteful but, Licence payers pay money for the BBC to be in Business.

But still... Radio 1 is doing nothing new.

They select what music to play all the time. Here are some examples -

www.entertainmentwise.com/news/105111/Not-Relevant-Nicole-Scherzinger-Axed-From-BBC-Radio-1-Playlist-

www.mirror.co.uk/lifestyle/going-out/music/nicole-scherzinger-boomerang-number-2-1766941

www.mirror.co.uk/3am/celebrity-news/alexandra-burke-single-let-it-go-snubbed-859713

Most Brits have heard of these two singers.

An excuse that there are "Too Many New releases" is just rubbish.

The big wigs have spoken and taken their bribes to play a certain song to gather influence to result in better sales and more profit for the record company.

If a group dosnt play ball. They don't get to play.

Shows how out of touch BBC radio 1 is... again.

The British public have spoken through the media of song. They have purchased the music.
The song is in the Charts.
The song should be played.
ITS THE WHOLE REASON THAT THERE IS CHART SHOW!

They should have played one of Crass' singles...

"How Does it Feel (To be The Mother of a Thousand Dead)?"

"Sheep Farming in The Falklands."

"You're Already Dead."

"Who Dunnit?" (Birds put the turd in custurd, but who put the chit in number 10? To the tune of "I do like to be beside the seaside". Recorded at the Thatchers Arms in Finchley, London)

Is it just me that's desperate for the song "I'm in Love with Margaret Thatcher" to wing it's way up the charts then?
I just love that her fan's have chosen it, and that the Beeb agree to play it in full. I even saw one quote stating "By golly, I never thought I'd ever enjoy Punk rock, but as long as it sticks it to the lefties".

The frigging irony is delicious...Did they all get dropped on their heads as babies or what?
