What exactly would Iran do? A war in Korea will not draw off enough of the US Navy to close the straights. The US forces already in the Gulf will not be going to Korea. The IDF will not be going to Korea. The militays of the Gulf states will not be going to Korea. In all what Iran could do for Korea is far less than they have managed to do for Syria. Thier are certain military realities and one of them is all Iran would do is make itself a target.

While a pretty terrible thing in our past, I wouldn't say US has a 'history' of dropping nuclear weapons. Nope, just one event.
Japan can count on German solidarity in the face of escalating tensions on the Korean peninsula, German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle said on Tuesday, as North Korea stepped up its saber-rattling. “There is a clear message from the government of our country… that Japan can count on solidarity and other peaceful countries can count on that solidarity,” Westerwelle told journalists in The Hague.

Wow. Really? We have a "history of nuking populate areas"? Give me a break. Two atomic bombs in 1945 is hardly a history, considering how many battles we've fought since then. And both Hiroshima and Nagasaki were military targets, that had civilians living there. .edit on 4/9/2013 by Zaphod58 because: (no reason given)
Name me another country that has done the same?? You cant, USA are the only people EVER to use atomic bombs on populated cities. Once is too many times!
Military targets lol, a city?? ooooooooooooooooooook
Battles? Invasions dont you mean?
There are rumors of you guys using mini nukes in both Iraq and Afghanistan.

So London could be a military target by your logic lol That makes it ok, you take out some military buildings inside a city of 8.1m....collateral damage right haha

Every citizen of Empirial Japan was fighting against allied forces, men women and children were willing to take up arms and attack. It was estimated that over 1 million allied soldiers would have died in a traditional land envasion of Japan in 1945. Therefore the Allied forces under US leadership decided to strike the two military targetted cities killing 350,000 Japanesse in order to save 1 million Allied soldiers. There were less human deaths as a result of this decision then the alternative one needed to end a war that the Axis started.

The US was the only nuclear power after world war 2, they could have nuked anyone who opposed them if they wanted and dominated the world, but didn't. Would Germany, Japan, Russia have held back if in the same position? I doubt it
Easy sed then done. Asia has other countries that are far more powerful than NK. Besides China wouldn't want the fallout in their backyard who is their master.

Imagine, the U.S. forces in the Persian Gulf getting blasted by Iran, while NK start dropping payloads all over Asia, or North America.

Israel is screaming for the US to handle Iran, NK could be a pawn in there pocket to such a goal
I always thought that NK and Iran would be one in the same problem for USA.. I just hope our leaders can avoid this trap and have known against it. "The first step in evading a trap, is knowing it exist" and the whole dune shabang
while US has no history of dropping nukes, is the only country in human history who has nuked another country.

They didn't dominate the USSR though? They could have nuked their way to Moscow if they wanted
