AHA! I found this contest on TIME!

Granted I've never written any kind of script before... the only thing I've written is regular stories.

But I'm gonna try.

Either apocalypse, or a post-apocalyptic thing... we'll see.

I finished my first entry! I dunno if I did it right though.

Contrasts

Hello everyone.

Great stories so far, I'm really enjoying the entries.

I'm removing the 5 to 10 min requirement from the contest rules as it seems to be really hard to achieve for the writers, as well as it's hard to measure such a thing across multiple judges as I've attempted to do over the last few days.

No minimum or maximum character count.

Eh, nevermind.

I finished my third entry...

I totally understand that everyone's distracted... I just spent the day writing because I won't have as much free time after today. God bless, guys... hope everyone's doing alright after the crap that's been hitting the fan lately.

hi guys.

Understandably, the focus right now is in Boston and the rest of the crazy stuff going on.

Fate decided this was a bad time for a writing contest I suppose. The contest will continue to run, but I might extend the time frame in order for members who are wrapped up in current events to settle in and get back to normal.

I'm certainly glued to the news.

Yes you may enter as many as you'd like. Provided they aren't direct sequels to your current submissions.

Thanks for the extension, tenth, much appreciated.

I too got a bit sidetracked with the events in Boston, but I am working on another submission, something I think will be rather interesting.

My first entry, a little late, but a very difficult style to pull off properly.

Here's my third entry this month:

3 Years After.

I reached out to other members for permission to cast them in my story, and it includes those who responded to my request.

A heartfelt thanks to those who gave their permission, and I hope I've done your character justice.

What's going on with this contest? Its been dead for a while. When was the deadline?

Well, this contest closed May 9th, but with the provision that one may PM your piece in at the last minute, I expect.

Good luck to everyone who entered this contest.

For me, this contest was alot of fun and kickstarted my imagination for subsequent pieces.

It was a good contest. If I may, I'd like to suggest a theme for the next one: something to do with the value of freedom and the erosion of our rights and civil liberties. I think a contest based on the idea of resisting the ever-encroaching threat of government control would fit well with this site.

That's a good idea. A theme that represents the erosion of the Constitution, and the steady decline of liberties as the government increases. Not sure so much of which direction it should take, as a theme.

I think George Orwell covered that already. LOL

“The best books... are those that tell you what you know already.”

Yes, I could get into the writing about the finer art of protesting and overthrowing Big Brother.

Here's an article that may inspire.

I dunno. I just assumed this contest fell through because it started right around the time the Boston bombing occurred, and everyone was distracted by it. Sucks, cause I put a lot of effort into this one.

I hope another one will come up soon.
