Corruption in Church. "Slavery/Control/God Complex"

Hello ATS. Today i bring you two stories of personal experiences i have had while living here in Indonesia. Please note with these stories i not only wish to make people aware but also ask for help and guidance in what should be done to get justice for the people affected. If you are a sensitive person i feel these stories will affect you greatly so please be warned they are very upsetting. Let's begin.

Dians story. The tale of a dying girl.

Dian was 26 when she passed away, leaving behind a child of 5 and her family and friends who say "She left too young and things could have been done to prevent her death"

Dian was the sister in law of my Chinese/Indonesian girlfriend, about 2 months ago my girlfriend requested we visited her in hospital. She was a sweet and beautiful girl but it wasn't the sickness that was killing her is was the abandonment of her church. Dian was a faithful Christian, She went to church every week and gave all she could hoping she would be blessed in her life and she devoted her life to god and her church.

When she was visited by the pastor she told her "I saw Jesus beside me holding a rose" The pastors reply was "This is the first step, Soon you will receive another and it's your time to go" Two days later Dian received a rose with a note saying "It's time, Say goodbye to everyone" Signed Jesus Christ. Dian in her weakened state was overcome with confusion and disbelief, Why would her god not save her and instead do this? Further investigation shown the payment for the rose and note was done by none other than the pastor herself. Upon being question why she would do such a vile thing the pastor informed the doctors Dian was delusional and turned off the oxygen machine herself saying "This is gods will" The doctors did nothing until Dians father stepped in and turned it back on. The pastor after leaving told Dians friends and fellow church members that Dian was defying god and they should not visit her or donate anything to save her, She told them to erase her and let go. She told her members that the devil was corrupting Dian and if anyone visited her they would not be welcomed back at the church, The followers erased Dian from their lives and she was abandoned. 2 weeks later Dian passed away.

Me seeking some form of justice for Dian investigated the pastors background and have discovered from some of her EX-Church goers that the pastor is disgusting. That in church she points out people in the crowed and shames them infront of others, She has told them do not watch movies as demons come into your head and posses you. She set them curfews on what time to be home/go to sleep, She has even done marriage counseling and blamed the men saying "All women are innocent" and advised them to divorce their partners. She runs her church cloak and dagger, Always changing locations and only letting the followers know the location and will not accept new members. This women is a disgrace to the church and has used her position time and time again to control her "flock" She deserves shame but people are too afraid because they say she uses magic and witchcraft if people disobey her. It sounds like the work of the devil. Not God.

Crushed dreams, The story of Isme.

Isme is 20 years old, She's a girl devoted to God and follows his word in her life and praises him with any reward or punishment she receives. I recently met Isme as she is my girlfriends best friend. Isme told her of her boyfriend and his family. Her boyfriends brother is a pastor at their church and the family is well known in their city Isme comes from a very poor background but works so hard supporting herself, her family and her schooling. The church approached her and offered here $2000 to pay for her schooling under the condition she would work for them after she graduated. She agreed and started to have faith in herself that her life will be great. 2 months into her schooling the church withdrew her money and demanded she leave her education and instead work for them now. Having no choice she did so and they used her as a teacher/cleaner/office assistant/car washer/delivery girl. Everything you can think of they made her life hell telling her "This is how someone like YOU can serve god, You won't get better" Furious and enraged me and my girlfriend helped Isme any way we could, We told her how to fight her case but was only met with responses such as "That law doesn't apply to our church" Finally the church has enough and visited her family. Speaking to her father who was the pastor of a small church they threatened him if they fight they own this city and Isme and her families life would become hell, Her fathers response of course was "If it's gods will i accept it gracefully" Isme seeing her fathers faith so strong refused to back down and after 4 months she won her freedom. She has been demanded to pay back the $2000 with 50% interest which she actually never received. She saw this payment as a way to remove them forever so agreed. She was then shunned in service infront of everyone as a girl "Not to let your children have as a role model" "A B**ch" ect ect

I recently visited Isme again with my girlfriend and she had told us of her boyfriend who had just broken up with her because his brother (the pastor) has said it was Gods will. They called Isme and told her never to speak to him again as he had been "Purified" and they didn't want him corrupt. Isme is doing well now and in a few months will move to Jakarta where she will be taken care of until she gets on her feet but alas she has already befriended a fellow girl who is now the latest victim of the church and the story is exactly the same.

These stories are two stories i have experienced and been a part of myself and all things said are fact based and were real events. ATS i am seeking your help, What can we do to bring justice to the victims and have these corrupt devil run churches brought down? Does anyone know who to contact? Who to tell? What to do?

Anything that can help will be very much appreciated.

Leave organized religion for good...and stop giving money to any organized religions. That's a start.

It depends on what denomination those churches are. If they are not non-denominational or Baptist, there may be a church hierarchy that manages pastors and churches and may be interested in these sorts of behaviours, which are clearly not Christian, and would likely be in violation of church law.

If there is no hierarchy, then you're probably out of luck, because while their actions are rather vile, I don't think that what they've done is in violation of any civil law (assuming that the second woman is being paid for her work, rather than being subjected to involuntary servitude.)

Cut out the middle man! You do not need priests, reverends, shamans, mullahs, rabbis, and other witch doctors standing between you and your creator. God is everywhere. He does not dwell solely in one church or another and he will listen to your prayers as easily as he listens to the prayers of church leaders. Churches exist to provide their leaders and their families with easy, undocumented money.

Everything done by everyone is done in the sight of God, but whether we choose to acknowledge that, is a different matter. As such, the Judge of mankind is aware.

Jesus Christ told us - leave the tares to mature - don't try plucking them up because you may inadvertently pull up the wheat. It is not our job to bring down corrupt churches. Expose evil by all means.

"Seeking justice" is done through Our Creator. It is His to avenge, not yours to avenge.

From what i understand here, To open an institute of religious practices you must go through certain laws and certain activities to be given permission to do so. Now the Pastor in Dians story as i said runs here "group" very much cloak and dagger but she calls herself a pastor and also i have flyers she has made showing her services she sometimes holds openly. So she herself sees her group as a church but i don't think she makes it official which means nothing is taxed and if I'm wrong and she does pay taxes for this group then that means it's official right?

As for Ismes story, Their church is an official tax paying church whom also own and run certain schools for certain children only. Isme wasn't the only person victimized by this church and i can get witnesses to come forward if i can get this to proceed.

The final justice is done by the lord. As a Christian Atheist i believe we can take action in Gods in name and for the good of everyone. If the cause is just, The Lord will be on my side. He's let man do his work before and man continues to do his work daily. This is also his work which i will help carry the burden and free his children from the demonic grips that hold them.

I suppose that it depends on the laws of the country -- here in the United States, churches are not taxed and so have to file various forms with the government in order to be registered as a non-profit organization. That makes them "official", I suppose, though one could just start a church in their house, forget about trying for tax-exempt status, and they're as valid of a church as the other, since our government is specifically excluded from saying what is a church and what is not.

It doesn't sound like either of your instances is associated with a larger organization, so there may be nothing that you can do, apart from possibly checking with an attorney or legal aid society to see if civil laws have been broken.

The lesson from this story?

Don't allow people the authority to speak for a 'god'.

The bestowed power will be abused one way or another, either intentionally or unintentionally.....
