Here is an experiment to try and to show to "MSM'ers": Take these big media websites
MSNBC
Fox News
CNN

Do searches on NDAA Indefinite Detention, Monsanto Protection Act, and Trapwire; which I would say are all 3 huge stories and should have been on the front-page off all of these websites.

Most of the results are laughable (no all, but most). Rate them from 1-10 on how well they covered the story and add up the results for all 3.

Now do the same for RT

I'm sure there are tons of other searches you can do that prove this point further. Just wanted to point this out how ridiculous our media is (which I know most of you already know).

You forgot to mention their smoking hot lady newscasters. I'll take them over Tom Brokaw any day.

RT certainly serves an agenda just like all other news sources, but they do report on things that other outlets won't dare touch...such as the misdeeds of Western Politicians and the outcome of the policies they put in place. Sorry to be so vague but there are too many examples to provide.

That being said, they do demonize the West and Israel, rightfully so in my opinion but they obviously are not going to criticize any Russian misdeeds so their is a level of hypocrisy in their reporting due to that aspect. Regardless of their bias when it comes to reporting Russian news, they are still a worthy news source in my opinion just like Press TV. I am capable of filtering through the propaganda BS and appreciate certain outlets discussing stories that others refuse to acknowledge.

And as FortAnthem said, they have a lot of hot female news anchors

I fear that you will get flamed for posting this, but stick to your guns because you are right OP, we got your back

There is no illusion. Rt keeps it real. The rest are glorified weather channels.

You've echoed my thoughts perfectly with that post. Very well written.

Yes, our media is a joke. However, it is pure insanity to then trust the Kremlin's propadanda network. I didn't read RT's article, because I don't give that statist garbage any traffic. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut or, more accurately, an evil and oppressive propaganda machine sometimes finds the truth helpful.

They're ALL ridiculous IMO.

I get RT on my cable network. Watching it is like watching MSNBC on steroids. I also get Democracy Now! on my cable network. And watching it is like watching RT on steroids. I also watch Al-Jazeera, it's in a league of it's own.

They all have their own agenda. The trick is to not get caught up in it.

I like listening to RT, for One Simple Reason.
The Interviewer ask a Question, and they Let the Guest Answer.
The dont insert their own Opinions, Argue with the Guest, or Call them a "Pin Head".
Its very Refreshing.

No news outlet in the world is capable and allowed to broadcast unbiased absolute truth...I am not sure if anyone is able to entirely know the truth about politics and what is really going on in the world.....But at least RT and Press TV are trying to show the other side of the coin as biased as they might be...It is wise to hear all opinions and point of views and make a semi final conclusion based on your own perceptions..

RT is just a basis as the rest of the media, they have an anti-American agenda so if all the news you watch is RT then you’re going to wind up thinking that America really is the most evil empire in the history of the Galaxy.

I guess it all comes to what propaganda you listen to.

My advice look at any given topic from all angles then make up your own mind.

I person regard RT in much the same way as I do the dog excrement that I have just had to scrape off my shoe.

And then CT'ers wonder why folks think CT'ers are crazy.

How the interviewer kept a straight face is beyond me.

That's classic RT though.

When I read through the more subtle news networks I am always reminded of the black propaganda used by Britain, the best are noticeable in their use of "cover, cover, dirt, cover, dirt" methodology (described by Sefton Delmer) which makes the listener susceptible to accepting the propaganda buried deep within their programming, very smart and I am always deeply impressed when I come across such subtle methods, it certainly is more interesting than the heavy handed propaganda used by some media outlets.

A good book on the topic is "black boomerang" which goes to describe the risk inherent of using this type of black propaganda..

Personally I try and use a number of outlets to help me sort the wheat from the chaff, which is not always that easy

Your comparisons may or may not be exaggerated, but I have watched them all. I don't get Democracy Now! any more, but I thought it was more like PBS or College TV on steroids.

I agree though, to not get caught up in any individual source, but it is helpful to hear other sides to stories.

It's like when you know a couple who broke-up and hear the guy's side, then the girlfriend's side, then what people have witnessed along with what you see in their relationship. You put all that together and try to form an opinion of what really went down to cause the break-up.

I guess I must be a nosy gossip! LOL
