That's exactly how I feel. I have nothing to hide.

In response to your party story:

I was at a party one time and the cops showed up. They were able to see our massive amount of beer cans through the screen door. As they breathalyzed each party-goer, they all said they only had one or two beers. When they asked me how many I had, I was honest and said that I had 9.

There is no possible way that I passed that breathalyzer, but, I was the only one who didn't get hauled off that night. I really think it was because I was the only one who told the truth. I didn't even get a ticket. So, I can agree that full disclosure has its benefits.

Observation......................

This is the second time in the last 40 days that there has been a DDOS attack on conspiracy sites. When large popular sites are taken down, you hear about it on the news.

Why has there not been a peep (that I know of) from the MSM ?

It really makes me wonder who is behind the attacks , and why it doesn't get reported on.

We're "fringe", Rocky. They marginalize us on a daily basis anyway. Why give us any respect when we do come under attack?

Yep. We are a bunch of tinfoil hat wearing loonies.

To them we have zero credibility.

And, I'm okay with that. I rather like my tinfoil hat.

Very good point.

If I was a reporter and wanted to further marginalize , or ridicule us on the fringe. WOW what a better subject! I read this on a thread last night. Think of the how a headline like this would make us look.

Conspiracy Sites Under DDOS attack. "They May Be Paranoid But This Time Someone Was Really Out To Get Them."

How's this for a headline.

Although I did not post, I still had fun! Just knowing I was not alone in my withdrawal made it fun!
But I do have to admit, I almost did join in until I saw the proxy link

I went to sleep feeling satisfied that today would be a brighter day......

LMAO That could also have been the Byline. In the artical to the technical explanation. Of why the attack succeeded for a while.

Is there confirmation that this was an attack on ATS per se, and not because the server/s were overwhelmed?

The Cyberbunker attack against Spamhaus had streams of 300 gb of information being transferred per second, that was only a few days ago, with an estimated two million+ computers involved, and is still probably going on. They had to bring in Microsoft and Google to ease the flow to servers.

I'm not 100% sure Smurf. I have not seen any real comfirmation, still waiting for one of those all members U2U's.

Never 100% sure of anything, but I will believe what I hear from the horses mouth.

I was pleasantly surprised by the whole thing.

Yesterday, my day started out horribly, and honestly (even though I was sad with no ATS) the whole ordeal ended up brightening my entire day.

Today, I am mainlining caffeine because, I stayed up entirely too late talking with everyone and adding layers of foil to my hat.

Yep, read that.

We have received some reliable information that a few people who were banned from here and GodLikeProductions.com for improper posting related to Sandy Hook were involved in the attack, and apparently are still focused on another round.

No offense,
At that point it still sounded like a rumor ? Have you seen anything else from staff ?

I saw his post, but who knows where these individuals hang out. Who knows how many servers ended up being affected in some way by the attack I posted about, which was a big deal for those servers. For instance, some of those past banking attacks had streams of 50GB a second, the Cyberbunker attacks/s have streams of 300GB a second. I'll have a look at this RATS forum. Here's a link to the Cyberbunker episode ongoing,

www.guardian.co.uk...

Something I forgot to mention, is that the open internet in general is slowed down by these big attacks.

I agree. I never use a proxy or tor or duckduckgo, I like fast Internetz,
I even use Chrome (hangs head in shame) because I like it better than the other browsers.
But I only use my real name when I have to. It's only a personal choice.

There is a difference between online privacy and anonimity.

No-one is anonymous unless they try very hard and don't mind snailnet to achieve whatever.

I just don't know if my real name and a photo of me and maybe some personal info should all be together in one place on the interwebz. I tell my son the same thing.

I don't throw anything with my name and address in the trash, why should I put it online?
You don't have to be particularly interesting to have your identity stolen....

Like you say, Heff and Darylln, I have alway found politeness and (relative) honesty saves a lot of bother. It's a bigger crime to run away from or lie to a policeman than any juvenile misdemeanor that doesn't actually hurt anyone.

I really appreciated the emergency back up forum. Thanks Chris

But now I feel left out of the cuddly ATS Facepalm club.
although I did "like" the Fetal ball statement.
I went scary places as well.
Not nice.
ATS good.
No ATS bad.
