China has placed military forces on heightened alert in the northeastern part of the country as tensions mount on the Korean peninsula following recent threats by Pyongyang to attack, U.S. officials said.

Reports from the region reveal the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) recently increased its military posture in response to the heightened tensions, specifically North Korea’s declaration of a “state of war” and threats to conduct missile attacks against the United States and South Korea.

All the major players are putting their cards down now, who will be the first to call a bluff?

Something is definately brewing, especially with the Russian Exercise in the Black Sea, the 'fronting' stage has begun.

There will either be a massive anti climax as quick as it started, or its all about to go wild west....

Game time... according to this article, we shouldn't be expecting to see China letting the US and SK trample down NK without a fight.
I think this could either turn really really bad or end up in a posture stalemate that moves no borders or ideologies but simply maintains the peace... for now.

Next item, Iran... undeservingly in my opinion. We have yet to prove that they have any ill intensions apart from rhetoric.

Perhaps China will cut the apron strings? Having an agreement to defend a nut case isn't in its best interest. And actually it isn't in the worlds best interest either. I think N Korea should be taken down now and as quickly as possible by both the US and China. If the US waits too long , it will be their biggest mistake ever. If Obama was smart he would be having clandestine discussions with China right now.

I don't think their mobilizations is due to what North Korea has stated, I think its due to the US sending aircraft into South Korea;

Russia mobilizing isn't a surprise either, no matter what china says against North Korea, they will stand by there side in the end;

It will, and always will be, West vs East in the end game.

I'd be careful.... I hear when the Asian's Unite they form Voltron.....

In all seriousness wouldn't it be something if China "nuked" N.K and suprised us all?

Think of the catch 22 in that~

As if China was like.... "Enough, with the Sabre rattling, now watch as we show you how to rattle a cage" Babooom~

Would definately be interesting to see what the Russians would make of that scenario!

China is probably gearing up to handle any potential refugee problems.

To be honest with you it IS the Americans I am more worried about. You say that they should strike quickly, yet that is just the typical American gungho attitude. Shoot first and dont worry about the consequences.

If Nuclear armegeddon is to follow I am sure it will be the USA that initiates it.

Of course China is stepping up it's military activities near the border.....with all the posturing between NK and the US is it really surprising? I think any country on the planet would do the same thing. Doesn't mean we're approaching some apocalyptic end game - it's just common sense.

So it begins - too warm to be cold war. Now everyone's aiming guns at someone else and stays still until someone makes the wrong move.

Should i bother going into work tomorrow. If we are going to get nuked I would rather be with my family than die at work. At least I could make my peace with my Father before the bang and flash.

You do know that "The Washington Free Beacon" is a sister site of Fox News!
For me the implication from fox is exaggerated at best, or at worst a pure fabrication!

And is the US or any other super power openly threatening to nuke others amongst other things? Serious or not you don't "play war" and expect no repercussions. If N Korea had the fire power I can assure you they would be nuking right and left right now. Sure they don't have the capability right now. But little Kim is an absolute nut case not far from Hitler.

It depends on the build up I guess. I mean -- if its like the recent Russian "massive" wargames, we are talking about 1 ship, 4 vehicles and 18 guys.....

I mean, not exactly the end of the world or anything.

Look at the bigger picture, some big wig russian politician threatened nuclear war over syria/iran recently and with the currency war everyone is getting into position of this economical game. It has to do with the petro dollar where the us prints free money, then basis the trade of oil in us that can only be bought with earned curency aka resources via gold, food etc...they inforce this policy with war and fuel regime changes aka threatening the sovernty of free nations. that is the threat the russia is declaring
