I have a very hard time with 99.9% of rap. KRS One has been around a long time and it was never about (hope I can say this) ho's, Benleys and how much they have. He has always had something to say ( :

Lyrics

Eerie whispers trapped beneath my pillow
Won't let me sleep, your memories
I know you're in this room, Im sure I heard you sigh
Floating in-between where our worlds collide

Scares the hell out of me
And the end is all I can see
And it scares the hell out of me
And the end is all I can see

Yeah yeah yeah...

I know the moments near
And there's nothing we can do
Look through a faithless eye
Are you afraid to die?

It scares the hell out of me
And the end is all I can see
And it scares the hell out of me
And the end is all I can see

Yeah yeah yeah...

[Instrumental]

It scares the hell out of me
And the end is all I can see
And it scares the hell out of me
And the end is all I can see

Yeah yeah yeah...

How ever this one may be better.....

declare this an emergency
come on and spread a sense of urgency
and pull us through
and pull us through
and this is the end
this is the end of the world

it's time we saw a miracle
come on it's time for something biblical
to pull us through
and pull us through
and this is the end
this is the end of the world

proclaim eternal victory
come on and change the course of history
and pull us through
and pull us through
and this is the end
this is the end of the world

Just with how much ATS has degraded into doom porn these days.... What with all the predictions and so on.

Forward - be progressive
The future is in our hands
Nothing is sacred if technology takes command
Don't care about logic
Principles are what you care about
What's a man life worth?
That's what you should think about
It is our fate - our fate

Honour and morality
They're always victims of progression
The glamour of our inventions
Has blinded our eyes to see the essentials

Responsibility - thrown away quality
Replaced by lust and greed for gain
The human race is inhuman
Our IQ grows to maximum
Brains filled with equations
The High-Tech age controls our lives
While the spirit rots our feelings die
It is our fate - our fate

The way into the future is a dead end
The feeling called humanity gets lost
We do believe that only science will save us
And forget that it may kill us

Knowledge and reason could be our rescue
Stop decay of humanity
Before technology leads us to death
Stop decay of our sanity

We're just a part of the machine
Stop decay of humanity
Piece of meat without identity
Stop decay of our sanity

[mos def]
The new moon rode high in the crown of the metropolis
Shinin, like who on top of this?
People was tusslin, arguin and bustlin
Gangstaz of gotham hardcore hustlin
I'm wrestlin with words and ideas
My ears is picky, seekin what will transmit
The scribes can apply to transcript, yo
This ain't no time where the usual is suitable
Tonight alive, let's describe the inscrutable
The indisputable, we new york the narcotic
Strength in metal and fiber optics
Where mercenaries is paid to trade hot stock tips
For profits, thirsty criminals take pockets
Hard knuckles on the second hands of workin class watches
Skyscrapers is collosus, the cost of living
Is preposterous, stay alive, you play or die, no options
No batman and robin, can't tell between
The cops and the robbers, they both partners, they all heartless
With no conscience, back streets stay darkened
Where unbeliever hearts stay hardened
My eagle talons stay sharpened, like city lights stay throbbin
You either make a way or stay sobbin, the shiny apple
Is bruised but sweet and if you choose to eat
You could lose your teeth, many crews retreat
Nightly news repeat, who got shot down and locked down
Spotlight to savages, nasdaq averages
My narrative, rose to explain this existance
Amidst the harbor lights which remain in the distance

So much on my mind that I can't recline
Blastin holes in the night til she bled sunshine
Breathe in, inhale vapors from bright stars that shine
Breathe out, weed smoke retrace the skyline
Heard the bass ride out like an ancient mating call
I can't take it y'all, I can feel the city breathin
Chest heavin, against the flesh of the evening
Sigh before we die like the last train leaving

Our theme should be a combination between all those songs mentioned herein, coupled with "There There" by Radiohead. Particularly the lyrics, "Just 'cause you feel it, doesn't mean it's there."

Peace.

Can't really go wrong with Godsmack. The lyrics to Speak just don't hit my soul. They do however make me want to party and bang my head like. I want a revolution, we can party when we take back control of our Governments.

Good luck with that.

To my mind, "They're Coming to Take Me Away -- Ha, Ha" would be the most appropriate theme song.

Lower life forms kept from their senses
Third dimensional imprisonment
Psychological tactics enforcing thralldom
Generations of conditioning
Hereditary indoctrination of the youth
Breeding disconnection
A perception of right and wrong installed by an unearthly party
With agendas of control
Never to be questioned
Too blind to see that we are prison born
Programmed to hate and fear
Disconnected consciousness
Lives dictated by ignorance
Cowering in fear of their dogma
We are bound to a state of physical dimension
Never to move beyond and break free from the prison born

Well this is my favourite ATS related one, you know... one for the preppers

well, can't get the video to work properly
www.youtube.com... so here's link

When the oil stops, everything stops, nothin’ left in the fountain
Nobody wants paper money, son, so you just as well stop countin’
Can you break the horse, can you light the fire?
What’s that, I beg your pardon?
You’d best start thinkin’ where your food comes from and I hope you tend a good garden

Gettin’ down on the mountain, gettin’ down on the mountain
Don’t wanna be around when the # goes down
I’ll be gettin’ down on the mountain, goin’ to ground on the mountain

When the trucks don’t run, the bread won’t come, have a hard time findin’ petrol
Water ain’t runnin’ in the city no more, do you hold any precious metal?
Can you gut the fish, can you read the sky?
What’s that about overcrowdin’?
You ever seen a man who’s kids ain’t ate for seventeen days and countin’?

There ain’t no heat and the power’s gone out, it’s kerosene lamps and candles
The roads are blocked, it’s all gridlocked, you got a shortwave handle?
Can you track the deer, can you dig the well?
I couldn’t quite hear your answer
I think I see a rip in the social fabric, Brother can you pass the ammo?
I think I see a rip in the social fabric, Brother can you spare some ammo?

Those are all great, but this one was actually written and performed by someone who posts here, and speaks to the various factions found here (fear p0rn, believers, skeptics, etc).

The dead came looking for paradise
They were from everywhere, they came from nowhere
Now-here, nothingness
They were outlaws, soldiers, children born without souls
They were martyrs, pilgrims, settlers and homesteaders

They came from Hell to conquer a billion worlds
They came from Earth and they were refugees, desperate to
Escape Eden, Heaven, and -- God

And the dead could not be stopped
And the dead could not be destroyed
And the dead would not work
Because they were dead and they came only
For the free food and -- consolation prizes
You dig?

It was the last of the great exoduses; the biggest secret
No one ever bothered to keep, because
No one believed it anyway, man

And they prayed for the bombs to fall
They vowed to live and die by the gun, and the sword -- forever!
They were fugitives from justice, from the law
From natural law

And the dead knew the big secret
They were in on the plan
The Earth they told us was a prison
And death would not free us from its deadly
Kung-Fu grip

You and I were created to suffer because our suffering is the juice
That drives the engine and makes the machine “work”
You were born to die and be born again and
Die and -- be born again
Forever and ever, over and over -- AMEN

But what if the barrier could be destroyed somehow?
Could a vampire god trap a soul in a prison
Like grains of sand, slipping between its fingers
In a strong galactic wind?

True death, soul death, final death, freedom!
And the dead lined up to leave, as fast as they came in
Faster even
They were ready to penetrate the veil of Heaven
They were ready to pierce the mouth of night
They were ready to break-on-through
To go beyond “space” and -- into “time”
Which is really the same thing anyway, brother

The dead proclaimed themselves lords of their own creation
They were ready to never-be-reborn
They were ready to color -- outside the lines
And live forever
In a verse of their own making
By their own designs

I love Muse! Uprising and Knights of Cydonia are two of my "running" songs. I have them set to play at about 20 min in when I get that " I'm done" feeling. Kicks me in another gear to push on through.

Funny thought, with all that's going on today, that's pretty much how I feel about this world somedays as well. You know, like I'm just over it, something's gotta give right? This old world can't take much more, we as human beings can't take much more. I'm tired, so tired of waiting on the next big government attempt to infringe on my personal freedoms. I live in small town, USA. Folks here are literally oblivious. In there defense, there just trying to make ends meat to keep there head above water and food on the table for there family. No time to keep up with real news, not the garbage that's spewed out on MSM. As my daddy would say, " it will all come out in the wash". Wash day is coming soon folks! This level of corruption is bound to unravel sooner or later. Greed is a ugly moster.

Ah muse. And Mat Bellamy - master of whiny faced pseudo stadium rock.

Dressed like a goth street urchin - the guy makes my skin crawl. For the life of me, I think muse are as revolutionary as Coldplay or Britney.

How about a bit of Rollins?

feel it coming in the air
masonic symbols everywhere
i'm addicted to the truth
it's a dangerous love affair
can't be scared when it goes down
stand for freedom here and now
only thing thats on my mind
is who's gonna free this town tonight

Also no ATS list could be complete without some good ol' Rage Against The Machine

great song i like it definitely matches, but i think this song "Not Your Kind Of People by Garbage would fit all the members from the true believers to the super skeptics the ATS community as a whole..check it out

Lyrics:

We are not your kind of people.
You seem kind of phoney.
Everything's a lie.
We are not your kind of people.
Something in your makeup.
Don't see eye to eye.

We are not your kind of people.
Don't want to be like you.
Ever in our lives.
We are not your kind of people.
We fight when you start talking.
There's nothing but white noise

Ahhh.... Ahhh.... Ahhh.... Ahhh....

Running around trying to fit in,
Wanting to be loved.
It doesn't take much.
For someone to shut you down.
When you build a shell,
Build an army in your mind.
You can't sit still.
And you don't like hanging round the crowd.
They don't understand

You dropped by as I was sleeping.
You came to see the whole commotion.
And when I woke I started laughing.
The jokes on me for not believing.

We are not your kind of people.
Speak a different language.
We see through your lies.
We are not your kind of people.
Won't be cast as demons,
Creatures you despise.

We are extraordinary people.
We are extraordinary people.
We are extraordinary people.
We are extraordinary people.

How about this:

Rise Against - State of The Union

If we're the flagship of peace and prosperity
We're taking on water and about to #in' sink
No one seems to notice, no one even blinks
The crew all left the passengers to die under the sea

[Chorus]
Countdown, to the very end,
Equality, an invitation that we won't extend
Ready aim, pull the trigger now,
In time you firmly secure your place in hell

State of the union address,
Reads war torn country still a mess
The words: power, death, and distorted truth
Are read between the lines of the red, white, and blue

[Chorus]

'Guilty' is what our graves will read,
No years, no family,
We did nothing to stop the murder of a people just like us
