I have sat on my "find" for a number of years...mostly because it could be nothing and didn't think it was worthy of any discussion on ATS. However, I have decided that many people on this site have a far better knowledge of making better enhanced images than I. So here goes.

This post deals with a peculiar object on an official Mars photograph. The link to the photo is www.msss.com... and the page it resides on is www.msss.com... The image used is 3.8 megabytes large.

The easiest way for me to describe where the object actually is in the photo...is to give the X-Y coordinates that are shown in my image viewer; which are this: 674 / 25197

To me, this object looks like it is not on the ground but floating/flying in the atmosphere. It appears to have a shape of four spheres attached together...almost like four domes or four round balloons.

Of course, it can be an object on the martian surface, but the way it is oriented...it seems very odd if it is.

I am hoping someone on here can look at this in depth and perhaps figure out if this is just a rock or "something else". I uploaded the cropped image(s) to the link below so that you can see exactly what I am talking about.

Thank you.

I would guess that it is just a rock.

I love your Avatar. He was a good man and is sorely missed.

To the op, from what little I could see it just looks like a different colored rock layer.

I don't know how else to make it more simple....?

I included 2 images with the exact coordinates of the object down to the pixel.

I can't help you find it if you don't understand my directions, sorry.

How is that possible on a 1643 x 8876 pixels photo?

Thank you, I can't include images in my posts since I am "new". Unless there is a work-around.

The original photo, from here--> www.msss.com... is 1827 pixels x 31987 pixels. That's what I mean with the coordinates,

That's it? It's an unremarkable piece of the terrain which looks very similar to other pieces of rock and sediment in that photo..

You don't need good photo-skills for this, just common sense.

I don't believe it's a natural formation. I believe it is something else. It's too perfect of a shape...4 domes connected.

Too perfect? There's nothing special about that shape.
