I am so tired of turning on my TV or radio and hearing about same sex marriage. The media is taking the story and running with it 24/7 because there is millions of small minded people that think it's news worthy.

I'm a 38yr heterosexual male. I don't care if homosexuals want to marry.

I have many gay friends, male and female. Why is it such a big deal? It is polluting my High Def Tv.
Same sex marriage does not affect me, my money, my life. Why does this crap have to be beaten down my throat?

The religious people are the one's that have a problem! Why do people believe that their religion is the gospel? People start wars over religion. All these religious people won't accept anything different from their "godly" laws. I have a religion and beliefs, but I don't preach it to others.

Gay marriage does not affect anybody except the religious people. It only hurts their beliefs.

Stay tuned -----I might rant about the Jodi Arias trial infiltrating my precious TV!!!!

Enough said---------get the crap off my TV

THIS THREAD IS NOT FOR DISCUSSING SAME SEX MARRIAGE. It is a rant against the media beating a dead horse.

END RANT

I'd tend to agree with you, but while there are legions of people trying to restrict the rights of others, i think it should be blasting from all sources until everyone can have a level headed opinion like yours.

My solution, other than just allowing it and being done with it, is to avoid most of the media, really, you are at ATS so you should already know this.

Yeah, I have to agree with you. The people objecting to it, it seems like they wanna be reminded day in and day out by the controversy.

I don't care.

I'm hetero, live and let live.

I don't have gay friends, I don't find anything in common with gay people, but... I also don't make a point to focus on them either. The less attention I pay, the less they seem to exist in my world. Being reminded of it constantly just reminds me I have to forced to stare at something in the face, which I normally choose to ignore.

Let them have all the rights as everyone else, I just don't wanna be reminded of their choice. Which is my choice.

Kinda like feminism.

I choose not to pay attention to feminists.

Although I'd rather see gay rights trump feminist rights.

(Cause we all know women aren't really people anyway...)

Ok, kidding on the last line.

Very soon, there will be a post that will blame you for being homophobic.

Not that you are. But that won't stop them from blaming you for it.

I live in a very small town in the upper peninsula of Michigan and there are a some gays. Most of these people I went to high school with. I don't base my opinion on the fact that they are friends. I base my opinion on the fact that it does not affect me or my life in any way!

I don't believe all stations talk about gay stuff at the same time. Try discovery, NG or Cartoon Network.

We all have our thoughts, beliefs, and opinions. Our opinions should be something that causes problems, but beliefs are the trait that usually speaks "fighting words".

Thank you for kindness!

I also get tired of the media harping on many different subjects, which they continue to shove down our throats over and over like they have nothing whatsoever else to report on. They do so because controversy sells advertising, and for every person who is sick of the same subject being aired time after time there are hundreds of others glued to the television who are would be consumers of the advertiser's products and services. Fortunately for those who are tired of seeing the same stories being "beaten like a dead horse" there is this interesting little thing called a "power button"......

You are right. I do watch discovery, NG, but not cartoon. Sci-Fi, DIY,HGTV, and others. I like news channels probably more than most, that's why I see the BS so much.

You're right, I should watch a different channel.-----I can take advice-thanks

It's like Peg Bundy and a box of bon-bons and a good story on TV. The news plays into the minds of small minded, nosy, gossip freaks. It doesn't matter if a plane crashed in the ocean, It's all about the ronchy sex of Jodi Arias. One makes better TV than the other.

No, they arent the only ones.. Im not religious at all and I dont care anything about seeing two dudes smooching it up.
Its just another case where the minority of a population want to shove their beliefs down the majorities throats. Im not buying it.

I know what you mean, and I'm sick of hearing about it as well. I want gay people to be able to get married. Let's just get over it and get on with it. I'm sick of the hateful commentary and the nasty things I am seeing all over the internet about it.

Well--another point of view. You're right about the minority. Excellent post, but I don't want this to turn into a debate about same sex marriage. I do like your opinion though.

I'm just tired of hearing every news anchor analyze it and then every guest they have analyze it. I'm not for or against. it
It doesn't affect me or most of you. Bottom line ---don't play kissy face or grab ass in front of me and I don't care if you file a joint tax return.

The "horse" isn't dead. The battle for equality rages on. There won't be silence on this matter until certain folk stop standing in the way of equal rights with the arrogant notion that they own marriage.
