The government in America is not bad. They have just been misled. Their behavior is bad. We need to rationally approach them and somehow persuade them to examine their ways and to run the government using common sense.
I think that is a very naive mindset. Do you know what Dick Cheney said when Barbara Walters was interviewing him and asked about the 28 percent approval rating the Bush administration had recieved from a public opinion poll? He said, "So?" I even put it in my signature because it show just how far these politicians are removed from the people they govern. We in america have the best politicians that money can buy and the people asking nicely for them to start doing the right thing will not change it.edit on 26-3-2013 by Cancerwarrior because: (no reason given)
But I said government, not politicians. Politicians are just a small but powerful part of government. Politicians can be corrupt but most congressmen are there trying to make deals with others to get help for their area. Sadly the good ones have little power. Trouble is the help these congressmen seek is not really needed, if the government penalized big business for all their imports than we would be better off.
Bush seems to be a nice guy but the people behind him were not nice. He was a yes man, put in there by his families friends. I would be happy to meet him and have a cup of coffee with him. Heck, I'd even haul him out to hunting camp....Not Cheney with a gun though.

"It will start with the world calling for 'peace, peace.' Then there will be an internal revolution in America, started by the Communists. Some of the people will start fighting against the government. The government will be busy with internal problems. Then from the oceans...attack! The Russians will bombard the nuclear missile silos in America. America will burn." - Dumitru Duduman
"Tell them to read Jeremiah 51:8-15. He named it THE MYSTERY BABYLON, THE GREAT ADULTERESS. Also read Revelations Chapter 18, the whole chapter. There it says clearly what will happen to America."
Dumitru Duduman's Vision of America's Red Dawn
I got beside the angel. He showed me all of California. He showed me all the cities of California. Then he showed me Las Vegas. "You see what I have shown you. This is Sodom and Gomorrah. In one day it will burn." He said, "Its sin has reached the Holy One."
He showed me another great city. He said, "Do you know what city this is?"
I said, "No."
He said, "This is New York City. This is Sodom and Gomorrah. In one day it will burn."
He showed me Florida. He said, "This is Florida. This is Sodom and Gomorrah. In one day it will burn."
He didn't let me say a word until he brought me back to the place we had left. He said, "Now, Dumitru, you can talk to me."
He said, "I brought you to this country, Dumitru. I want to wake up a lot of people. I love this country. I love the people. I want to save them. America will burn."

Obama is too obvious and a red herring...you do realize just how long it took Hitler to rise into power don't you?

Politicians ARE the government. They are all owned. The Senate, The House, the State legislatures, the town halls, all of them. There might be a very very small minority that genuinely have the concerns of their district in mind. But there are far more that are bought and paid for.
Yeah Bush would be a fun guy I bet to hang around and drink beers with. But how the hell anybody could vote for a person who is so obivously very stupid is beyond me. Not that I think voting matters anyways. The people who can finance these politicians election campaigns are the ones that will always be catered to. Not the common man. As long as there are corporations, banksters and special interest groups with tons of money to get whatever laws they want passed, there will never be any will of the people in government.

Yes sir, you are right, forgot about the bureaucrats. I would still say however that the majority of government is politicians. and I still say that we have the best that money can buy.

I'm not saying that Obama would be "the one." However, he and his supporters are laying the groundwork with a rather frightening cult of personality, getting the young people to worship a politician, and getting people even more and more dependant on the state. (All of which happend with Hitler BTW). Creeping incrementalism.

I agree with you on that! But I hope you have an open mind and see this has been a build up of power (think about executive powers) by both parties. What we believe as the two parties of Republicans and Democrats have the same agenda for a long time now...
Who is behind the curtain and who will eventually step up is still the question. But I still think the frogs are not yet at a boil even though the water is getting pretty warm.

I can't disagree with that: patriot act, increased regulations, increased alphabet agencies.
