Whilst they claim they claim they "deny ignorance" and avoid the propaganda of the mainstream media, they in fact propagate ignorance, and accept the utterly false propaganda of fringe sources, time and time again, simply because they are fringe, independent and unpopular. They accept this idiocy, despite the fact that there is no factual basis for it.

The respondents to the thread that I am expanding on, were in support of the authors contention, simply because of their fear that a small arms treaty means that their "right to bear arms" will be eroded. In fact, the treaty had no such intention or authority. Once again, the ATS community proves they are easily swung to the whim of fear and paranoia, without backing their ideas with facts and evidence.

I want to sincerely "Thank You" for stating what has become overwhelmingly obvious to all but the paranoid right wing extremists here on ATS. Who by the way, seem to have taken over this site in more recent times, especially since they lost the last election. Nowadays, the barrage of mindless threads originating from this crowd of delusional nut jobs seems to be endless and IMO, they're ruining what used to be a pretty good site.

I have also noticed that during this transition, many of the critical thinkers who used to frequent this site have either left or have significantly withdrawn from the conversations at hand. Largely due to the fact that ATS has been inundated with these "Sick" threads that border on insanity. One can only hope that it gets better in the future, but I have my doubts.

Many people like to find boats to travel with , and they choose the first or second boat. But the blame is not on them only , we live in communities which people like to believe what they want. It is not easy to dig for the truth and stand the bitterness.

Your thread may have true points to argue , and you pointed to the right direction , but it is not all the origins and results of problems.

It is one ring in a chain.

But I thank you as an individual.

Do you know that both crowds are wrong? I'd wager that it's split just about evenly... ...and one is just as tiresome as the other.

No matter how selective your reading is, it won't change the fact that ATS is fairly well balanced between right wing nut jobs...and the left wing nut jobs. Both of whom have lost elections in my time here.

You may be thinking that because it seems when anyone disagrees with anything Obama says or does, disgarees with anything this administration does, or isnt a dyed in the wool Liberal, you all assume theyre a "right winger". Not everyone who disagrees with you is a "right winger".

Funny what a difference one little letter can make. It would seem as though they are intent on removing the "Y" from the end of the word "Deny" thereby creating the "Den of Ignorance" you speak of.

This would be a great investigation. Count the threads that are trashing Obama; in contrast to those praising him.
That should give a fair indication of the way ATS has shifted. I still think that the Right Wing Conservatives at present vastly out number the progressive members.

How do the MODS shake out politically? I'll bet all my points that the conservatives are in the majority here....

I't really dosen't matter to me as I have been regulated to the "people like you" catagory. What ever that is

That wouldn't have anything to do with if this place leaned right or left.
It would just be a statement as to how good or bad a job Obama is doing.

During the Bush years there were tons of threads saying how bad he was.
Tons of threads saying how bad Cheney was as well.

That doesn't mean this was a 'left wing' place during the Bush years.
It just means that people could see how lousy a job that person was doing.

Ditto for the Obama years.

I really don't care how the membership shakes out politically...

But I do think an assessment of how the owners and staff/mods fall along the rightwing/leftwing continuum would be interesting.

btw....I'm fully aware that no one cares what or how I believe anyway. I'm perfectly comfortable as a "people like you"

My motive for frequenting ATS is based solely on my profession as a screenwriter/filmmaker. What a Fantastic resource for "out there" info, ideas and themes.

It's not about disagreeing with someone of a different point of view. It's about posting threads that more often than not, turn out to be either completely false or distorted just for the purpose of instilling fear and dissent among their delusional right wing following.

If you can explain to me just how it is that a U.S. Senator is guilty of treason based on the fact the he/she voted one way or another on any Senate Bill brought before them, then maybe we have something to talk about. If not, then the entire thread is nothing more than another fictitious and delusional rant being promoted by the anti-government right wing extremist on this site.

One would think that they would just take the time to open a dictionary and educate themselves as to the actual definition of the word "treason" and the same could be said for many of the other words they continuously throw out there like "socialism" and/or "tyranny."

These posters are as ignorant as the day is long and apparently they think that this is the place to come to deny their own ignorance by posting it in threads as if it were true. Furthermore, the longer that you and the other mods and administrators continue to deny this obvious trend, the longer it's gonna take to restore ATS's reputation in the future.
