NATIONAL GUN FEVER SHOWS NO SIGN OF BREAKING

news.yahoo.com

Never mind that Adam Lanza used a Bushmaster AR-15 assault-type rifle to rip apart the bodies of children at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn. Forget the fact that James E. Holmes, the alleged Aurora, Colo., movie theater shooter, fired, among other weapons, an AR-15.

The reason I posted this article is the fact that the media is trying to change the story on Sandy Hook. This "journalist" should be fired. All this article is play on emotion and how this person views everything. This is absolutely disgusting to me. [snipped]

I'd say her opening with such an openly false statement as that makes her a troll with a title, not a journalist.

Just my thoughts...

I can only hope that politicians are seeing now that if they want to remove our firearms, thy will have to ask instead of telling us.

Now we are still a society where IF they ask, and we say, "yes", then it'll be our own damned fault.

But I hope they see that they can't tell us anything!

Almost 60% of America thinks the devil is going to take over the world and kill all the god fearing people.

Its hard thing not to care... but many of these people are beyond help.

I literally just got done reading the same article. All I can say is...what a load of trash. I cant believe Yahoo decided to put this on their homepage. How is this anti 2nd amendemt article somehow front page news?

The political climate has changed since the 1994 ban: Democrats have cowered before the gun lobby; the National Rifle Association has grown even more extreme; the U.S. Supreme Court has moved much further to the right. And, in the 20 years since Congress banned assault-type weapons and high-capacity magazines, Americans have heard a steady drumbeat of pro-firearms rhetoric that fetishizes the Second Amendment. In other words, the climate around firearms has gotten crazier.

I have to wonder....have any of these hardcore anti-gunners actually thought that maybe, just maybe, more and more Americans are getting pissed about them infringing on their 2nd amendment rights?

Is it really a "fetish" to get pissed at others who infringe upon your rights?

Maybe it's these anti gunners that are losing touch. Maybe they are becoming the minority. Maybe more and more Americans are standing up for their 2nd amendment.

Have some of these anti gunners actually checked the gun stores? Have they even seen the ammo and gun racks go bare once they started spouting this anti-gun nonsense? They dont seem to learn. The second the anti gunners attempt more restrictions, the more guns start flying off the shelves,

Maybe if the Government would stop buying ammo like there's a zombie apocalypse the people would stop buying so many damn guns? Maybe if the Government would just tell the people why they're spending their tax dollars arming themselves to the teeth?

Liberal media: so stupid a cave man could write it.

Liberals and progressives REALLY believe that people are that stupid, and that if you keep repeating a lie - it will become truth.

When obozo went on tv and slowwly explained the meaning of what a gov't deficit was and that it really didn't matter - to the reallly slloww people who keeping voting him in - I just couldn't believe that liberals could stomach it ( but the people who vote for them, don't watch news - american idol, or TruTv was showing women fist-fighting)

What a sorry excuse for journalism. Aside from the fact that it's clearly biased with an agenda, she didn't even get her facts rights. Lanza didn't use an AR-15; he used two handguns while the rifle was in the trunk of his car.

I think it speaks volumes of the general idiocy in the US right now that we have people still lumbered with the false idea that the gun issue splits the nation down party lines. It doesnt. It might split the political class down those lines, but they have agendas outside the social norm.

Another thing that is ridiculous, the suggestion that removing guns, limiting magazine capacity or any other damn thing is going to change the face of gun crime in the US. As Im sure anyone who lives there will point out, all that will be achieved by restricting gun ownership, is an armed criminal underbelly and a defenseless citizenry. The only legitimate solution to the problem of spree killing is to adequately deal with the mentally ill, and the criminals who perpetrate these offenses.

Keeping dangerous individuals away from guns, and other people, is going to be more effective long term, than merely keeping guns of various sorts, out of public reach. It will however cost billions to adequately deal with these issues, which is why the government in the country has not taken up that challenge. This despite the fact that the sorts of people they should be dealing with, keeping away from the innocent and decent people, would be just as dangerous without guns, as with them.

Wow, there's some stomach-turning garbage for you. No wonder the American public is so misinformed when excrement like this passes as legitimate journalism. Hell, she even finds time to cry a little about the 2000 election in that article.

Hey lady, if you just demonize the law-abiding gun owners just a little more next time, maybe they'll actually listen to you. Or probably not. As it turns out, people usually don't respond well to that sort of thing.

If the anti-2nd crowd doesn't see a benefit in 'fear', as you put it, then why are virtually all of their arguments based upon it? Most of it is ridiculous.

I'll give up my 2nd Amendment rights as soon as she gives up her 1st Amendment rights.

Wait...No i won't.

I actually take offense to this article. This woman is calling for the demonization of law abiding citizens. She is a Nazi as far as I am concerned.

The dems lost control of both houses back in the ninties, due to no small measure of their anti-gun stance. It'll probably happen again come 2014.

Why do idiots keep trying to repeating their mistakes.

Articles like this make me even prouder of the Gadsden (don't tread on me) and Gonzalez (come and take it) flags that are flying high in my front yard.

Come and take it.

That's why idiots are what they are.

You're right, though. This has been one big, fat, colossal miscalculation by the Democratic party. Some of the smarter ones are starting to realize it at this point, but its probably going to cost them dearly in the 2014 midterms, especially if this ammunition shortage persists as an in-your-face reminder next November of what the Dems have tried and are trying to do right now.

Seriously? That article is sickening. So now you are despiicable if you don't consider everyone killed with a weapon and then abstain from buying it? Who does this journalist think he is? Why is he not out shaming cops for havinng these type weapons? This is the worst "journalism". The blatant agenda is ridiculous. Everyone should write this autthor or the editor and complain. He truly is standing on the dead to condemn people buying weaponns. They are buying them because the govts response, it has nothing to do with these kids.
