The Patriarch said the first steps taken by Francis in the field of ecumenical dialogue are very important. “We are very glad he has given such focus to his role as “Bishop of Rome”. And we are also glad about his decision to nominate eight cardinals as advisors: this is similar to the synod system in our Church.” Bartholomew went on to make a joke about Francis’ decision to stay in the Sanctae Marthae residence: “When we met there, the fact we were both living in the Domus Sanctae Marthae meant we had the chance to have a few brotherly chats and sit down to table together. As you know, the Pope took the suite I usually stay in when I come to the Vatican. At one point he said to me: “I stole your room...” to which I replied: “You’re welcome to have it!””.

The Patriarch is being presented with more and more chances “to demonstrate our good will and our determination to continue ecumenical dialogue.” “There are some elements, within Orthodoxy as well, that make this difficult, but we need to overcome these difficulties in order to proceed with theological dialogue,” Bartholomew admitted.

And this mission contnues

The day before the World Youth Say Rally week in Rio is being dedicated to interfaith (One World Religion)promoting activities.

Young Catholics, Jews and Muslims will come together at this year’s World Youth Day in Rio de Janeiro (23-28 July). The meeting will take place on 21 July at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro. About two hundred leaders of the world’s three main monotheistic religions “will come together to present the main elements of their own faith, as well as the concrete actions they have taken to foster interreligious dialogue,” the WYD organising committee announced.

Rio to host historical interreligious youth meeting

What is wrong with interfaith? It doesn't make any sense. Tolerance, in the true meaning of the word, on the other hand is a fruit of The Spirit of God.

Galatians 5:22 But the Spirit produces love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

Long-suffering - Μακροθυμια· Long-mindedness, bearing with the frailties and provocations of others, from the consideration that God has borne long with ours; and that, if he had not, we should have been speedily consumed: bearing up also through all the troubles and difficulties of life without murmuring or repining; submitting cheerfully to every dispensation of God’s providence, and thus deriving benefit from every occurrence.

Ephesians 4:2 Be always humble, gentle, and patient. Show your love by being tolerant with one another.

There is a huge difference between personal tolerance between individuals, and "interfaith" dialogue between politicos in the religious sphere.

The tradition of the Church has always been that there is no salvation outside the Church. Only since the 1960's has this traditional outlook of the Church changed to be more ecumenical.

The problem with inter-faith dialogue is manifold. First, it leads to moral relativism. Secondly, it detracts from the belief system of the followers of the Church. Secondly, it is an open invitation to engage well-known enemies of the Church.

I agree with you Cookie Monster (that sounds weird writing it), I am not for interfaith, like I said it is the New World Order's Religion. Interfaith does not make sense. Religion is about how to gain harmony with the world we live in, be that in objective terms with animistic/occult/magic rituals, or subjectively through salvation of the individual. Each religion proscribes a different way of doing this, and even different goals. How can you mix these? It doesn't make sense.

To be able to mix them (interfaith) you have to change what the purpose of religion is. To do this you have to dumb down society and make it very materialistic and superficial thinking. Both these agendas are in full swing.

Honestly, I see nothing wrong with what you said.

Actions DO speak louder then words.

There are two general ways infront of the Roman catholic church. 1. the first is to embrace the reality, that includes many things that I am not going to talk now. I will only mention th Extraterrestrial issue, the Mt Graham observatory that searches exo-planets sponsored by Vatican, the jesuit-lead teams of astronomers, the public talks of mgr Balducci and Funes, papal astronomers, of possibe alien life. This is the positive way. In projection, it could lead or at least help the humanity to find the way to a better future and to survive the current unprecedented crisis after the Great Flood.

2. The second way is to try to save the status quo, to try turn back the time and customs, to try finding new sins where they are not, to put forward outdated theology from the middle ages, and not modern ones such as Pierre Teilhard de Chardin. Hope that road is not taken already, despite there are such signs. If it is taken though, it leads ultimately to a destructive future, in which the church in Rome will find itself in a minority position, rivaled not only by non-Christian religions, not only by non-catholic modern churches, but also by alternative catholic churches that will surface if that road is taken.

I don't know how much time is allotted for that decision and for the actual steps on each road. The recent solar flares on the anniversary of Fatima May 13 show how quickly the picture of space driven events may change, with unknown disastrous consequences similar to the Carrington event or bigger. Let alone the ever-possible war in Middle east or Far east that may grow nuclear within matter of days. I hope the wise decision 1 will be made as soon as possible, by the pope and by the leading cardinals. Already too much time was lost after year 2000, a year that according to certain catholic prophets should be the year to see the start of the promised Era of Peace. It didn't happen then. Will it happen at least now, after so much suffering endured by the world since then? Or the catholics will be left without compass to wonder between certain destruction (in any possible scenarios) and uncertain salvation off this planet offered by someone alien whom the Roman catholic church didn't find the strength to openly promote, while being aware of at least for the last decades. Perhaps another christian church will do it instead if that indeed happens.

With the decision of the German conference of bishops to stand behind the possibility of women deacons, it is clearly shown that not a small number of catholic prelates want the innovation to enter the centuries-old structures of RCC. Of course this is one of the many topics that are discussed in the society. I don't support all the innovative ideas, but some should be materialized in a 21st century church who pretends to lead 1.2 bln population. The social issue is of no less importance if we have 2/3 of that population living in poor countries, more or less in poverty (and some of them even within developped countries).

The 2 ways that I talk of in the previous post, may appear mixed. The church new leadership (is it new for now except for the pope?) may choose to preserve core traditional values intact while accepting for ex. the possibility of life on other planets. Especially when such life is openly demonstrated. But let me doubt that a conservative theology would survive the cultural shock of the first contact, whenever it takes place. Will the current catholic theology survive it, will other churches survive it, it is not particularly my problem. Let the theologians find the proper formulas based on the same holy Bible! There are enough texts to speak of that, under the very broad and very vague term "angels". Ezekiel 1 speaks of clear space tech seen at his time and described with his vocabulary, named "cherubs". So is Elijah's taking to "heaven" in a "chariot of fire". What more do we need to even open the discussion of UFO in the Bible? Let the theologians do their work, and do it now! The society has already passed that barrier, and we have Ancient Aliens on History channel discussing freely these and other issues (that I do not agree with necessarily). But that happens because the churches' theology leaves a VACUUM in a world that knows is just one of the 400 billion stars in the same galaxy. The churches' views are desperately outdated, and to call the Middle age theology is not the best way to answer that vacuum.

The problem for the common citizens on this planet, who might not be even catholics, however may not be exactly this one. It remains the current deadlocked economy, the danger of nuclear conflict that will claim not only million lives but will CHANGE DNA in the coming generations. The possibility of a sudden destruction coming from yet unknown space source - be it our own star or another one. These things must be discussed in the society and they are not. The 2012 phenomenon came and passed to leave in the minds of the people the phrase "see nothing happened AGAIN". The biggest of all these issues as combination and separately, I think it finds its manifestation in the extraterrestrial factor. A space catastrophe cannot be averted, but we could be saved by aliens.

You cannot have seriously the Russian former head of state and current prime minister Medvedev "joking" about ET individuals who reside on Russian territry. Or the former Canadian minister of Defense Paul Hellyer who speaks of 5 extraterrestria civilizations pubicly on conferences (see both on youtube). You cannot have that and a society that is largely mute about that. Churches that still see demons in the flying saucers. And secret projects that keep it secret, while thousands common people make photos of flying triangles (TR-3B secret spaceship). But I will not blame so much the secret projects, because it were exactly their scientists who came FIRST to tell us selected parts of the truth. See Bob Lazar (Los Alamos, Area 51), Dan Burisch, command sergeant Robert Dean, speaking on interviews and conferences and showing hard evidence as photos or drawings. In face of that, in face of the second Washington DC pressclub conference of Disclosure initiative of Drs Greer and Bassett, (first one in 2001) the Churches just cannot remain silent anymore, if they pretend for anything in the post-contact era. Even the Russian Orthodox patriarch has said once on the Russian state TV (now available on youtube) that IF and When the real ET come they will come manifesting themselves openly to all.

In conclusion, the Roman catholic church and her new leadership is infront of epochal decisions. If not made, if not made on time, if not made in the quality and magnitude needed, someone else will make them instead. Because the humankind does not end with the last pope in Malachi's list. Hope it is not really the last one. The humankind survives anyway whatever cataclysm is planned to befall this planet. And continues to wait for the Second Coming that not even the angels know the date of, nor the Son, but only the Father in Heaven.

If you read the Old Testament prophets in the Bible closely - and many of these books are short reads of only a few pages - there are several instances where Judgment Day is discussed and the descriptions are nothing short of surreal.

It's not that big of a leap to think that there would have to be outside - either alien or highly technologically advanced mankind - intervention to implement the kind of global religion described by the prophets. To implement this global religion, and to force all of mankind to accept it, would require tremendous advanced technology to ensure compliance.

You can almost picture a science fiction scenario with huge alien craft intervening from the skies to prevent the utter destruction of Jerusalem, and the use of advanced weaponry to "melt" (literally, per the Bible) the enemies of Jerusalem. The "Day of the Lord" may actually be a massive alien intervention and the initiation of global peace through super sophisticated technological means.

This sounds bizarre - and it is - but the evidence is quite scriptural if anyone takes the time and energy to read carefully and interpret the writings of the Old Testament prophets.

Clearly, even in the Old Testament, there are many strange references to interactions with what appear to be highly sophisticated beings with superior intelligence and technology, whether these are "angels" or direct contact with G-d Himself.

If the stories are real and genuine, then there is difficulty in explaining otherwise. Either multiple generations of writers were highly imaginative in their allegories and biblical descriptions, or highly sophisticated and intelligent life intervened in the affairs of men over an extended period of many centuries.

In regards to the papacy, Rome will have to breach this subject at some point in time, or, in fact, the subject will be breached well before they have a chance to do so. They may be overpowered when the Judgment Day comes, and communication will only come from this single source of alien or otherworldly intelligence altogether.

An alien life form would take over the planet, and all its communications, and implement a governance structure that would, militarily speaking, have such highly advanced technology as to render all other human warfare technology as obsolete and unable to combat. A global religion would be enforced, centered in Jerusalem. The "Prince of Peace" will rule from the Third Temple in Jerusalem.
