We should all quite buying this garbage. These companies also like to steal water from towns and then sell it back to you in a bottle made of oil.

Frankly, I dont care what these companies want to put in their product.
Im not buying their product for myself or others.
I want these companies to shrink down in size and not have the power that they do.

Maybe I don't understand how the flavor business works. Is this common?

We use hazardous materials. Any claims relating to improper handling, storage or disposal of these materials could be time consuming and costly.

Our discovery and development process requires our employees to routinely handle hazardous chemical, radioactive and biological materials. Our operations also produce hazardous waste products. Federal, state and local laws and regulations govern the use, manufacture, storage, handling and disposal of these materials. As a result of the increase in size of our operations, we were recently re-classified from a small quantity to a large quantity generator of hazardous waste. This reclassification may result in increased scrutiny of our operations by the Environmental Protection Agency. Compliance with applicable environmental laws and regulations may be expensive, and current or future environmental regulations may impair our discovery and development efforts.

Source

1 metric tonne = 1000 kg

Large Quantity Generators (LQG) generate 1,000 kilograms per month or more of hazardous waste, or more than 1 kilogram per month of acutely hazardous waste.

I have been telling several of my friends about this recently, so it is most odd that I shall see this thread now. To answer your question, HEK293 cells.

There was an additive I read about a couple of years ago. It turned off the bitter receptors on your tongue. My guess it would be something like that. It means they can reduce the sugar content and it will still taste the same. Poor show not linking it on ingredients though...

I'm sorry, OP, but could you please get your facts straight before posting next time?

It's this sort of post that perpetuates the idea that anyone interested in "fringe" topics is ill-informed and reactionary.

If you had bothered checking sources or even running a few cursory searches for the information being discussed you would've seen that there is no story here.
Nothing is being put into pepsi that is at all odd, strange, weird, or bad.

This is HIGHLY MISLEADING.
I urge those of you reading this to check it out for yourself and not be gullible.
Too often people see things like this and, without bothering to read up or do any further research, go off and start saying things like "They are putting Aborted fetuses in PEPSI!"
(Then again, 99% of this site is basically a riff on that.)
It would be great if people could be responsible in their posting and find out the whole story FIRST before spreading faulty "information" as fact or rumor.

I love seeing all of these people sticking up for these companies. Like really? Do you think these companies have anything other than profit in their gleaming eyes???

Here is a question for you supporters or (payed shills).

If these companies like PEPSI are just food manufacturers (if you can even call their products food), just what the hell are they doing being members of likes of the CFR and the Bilderberg group? Don't believe me? Go look up the past meetings of these criminals and you will ALWAYS see someone from Coke or Pepsi!!!

Really?

Feel free to STOP DRINKING THE #!!!!!!!

It still amazes me that there are no shortage of people who scoff at the idea of drinking.............WATER when they're thirsty!!!!!

Alot of people have been conditioned that when they're thirsty, they need to reach for SOMETHING....ANYTHING... which is going to make their taste buds do a little song and dance and satiate their fat little appetites

Americans especially are fat little pieces of #E!!!
Let them drink cake, for tomorrow they die.

You have to love it, living in a world where companies are allowed to sell you food products, but not required to tell you what they are made of!...

I have always been suspiscious of these soda companies... the reason? I grew up in the Southeastern United States and lived 10 miles from my cousins' home. At my home, we always drank Coca-Cola, while my cousins were given Pepsi.

We (the kids) knew to take a Coke with us when we would go there for the day, as they did the same when they visited us. Being young kids (6-10 years old), there were no other options, we were drinking soda and Lord forbid we be stranded at their house with only Pepsi to drink!

Some people even avoid restaurants who do not serve their preferred brand of soft-drinks. There is a drastic difference in taste between Coke and Pepsi. Coke fans will tell you that Pepsi (or anything other than Coke) tastes terrible, with Pepsi tasting like dirt - vice-versa for the Pepsi fans. Those soda drinkers out there know what I mean.

I have a feeling they put something *extra* in their product to 'hook' customers on their specific brand. I can't prove it and may probably be wrong, but I did get a pretty decent and funny memory out of the deal;

My niece lived with us when she was 4y.o.(about 5 years younger than me). One day we took a trip to the grocery store, where we eventually made it to the soda aisle. My mom asked me, 'What kind do you want? Pepsi?'

I quickly said, "Pepsi-Sucks, get Coke"

We finished shopping and went home.

We were having dinner a few days later when my Mom asked what we'd like to drink. My little 4 year old niece enthusiastically said, "I want Pepsi-Sucks!"

Her mom married a guy a few years later who eventually landed a job for Pepsi, ironic. It doesn't bother him, too much, that we all still refer to Pepsi as "Pepsi-Sucks", he just makes sure everyone is gone if his bosses visit.

Did you see my earlier post about how Aspartame kills brain cells and damages the brain?

This COULD explain some of these types of posts...

Isn't it lovely; some company invents some new chemical garbage that fools the taste-buds into thinking they're tasting something sweet and we have to take that company's word for it that the stuff is safe?

Certainly sounds like an additive that will end up causing some kind of cancer down the road. Maybe tongue cancer?

Here’s a tip; avoid the sh|t! It’s all poison. Drink water instead. Or fresh juice with soda water. Most sugar substitutes are no good for your health, at all!

A lot if misinformation in your "articles". Primary one being the use of aborted foetuses. It was one, in the 70's. The cells used since are manufactured in a lab.

Since that appears to be the basis of the "child sacrifice" theory, the rest falls apart quickly.

But hey, you keep fighting that misguided fight. Fortunately, no one is forced to ingest these evil demon products, so becoming a mindless minion is quite easy to avoid...

Aside from the fact that Pepsi, Coke, Sprite, etc. tastes absolutely disgusting, it's terrible for one's health.

Exactly. I don't even drink it with bourbon these days. I just go with the Makers Mark and water. I have not had a soda in over 8 years and my body is much better because of that decision. I am trying to pass the same information on to my kids and ereryone should do the same. The x don't see it that way though and feeds them processed food and as much soda as they can take in. Just another reason why i will spend as much as I have to to get custody. But that subject is for another forum.

Nothing in the OP said Pepsi was putting aborted fetuses in their soda. I made it clear that the sweetener company uses fetal material in the taste TESTING and that is what the shareholders were upset about.

The main story here is that Pepsi is preparing to start using some new sweetener brewed up in a chemical lab that fools your brain into thinking its tasting something sweet. This sweetener has gone through some piss poor safety testing paid for by the company that made it and certified by an agency who's main goal is to promote its client's products.

Nobody knows how this stuff will affect people when put into mass distribution in their addicting colas.

The article may have exaggerated in implying that this stuff is in the soda now but, since they aren't required to list it in the ingredients, it could just possibly be in there now.

Maybe if enough people make a stink about practices like this, franken-sweeteners won't find their way into our food supply.

why do you defenfed stuff like this??

Do you believe an 18 month study and a 3 month safety assessment on rats alone is enough to change an ingredient which has a major impact to our bodies?

Are you fine drinking artificial flavors and ingredients knowing there are synthetic chemicals added without the need for proper safety research?

All other previous sweeteners have evolved as cheaper substitutes ordered after a decline in the market.

They are then disguised as healthier, low calorie, diet breakthroughs when in fact they are only allowing the manufacturer to cut costs. They know without sweetener, their products taste like garbage.

And almost all sweeteners were approved by the same organization only to be found controversial later down the road, after the damage has been done.
