I am beginning to think the fruit mentioned in Genesis was a metaphor. I am starting to believe it wasn't a fruit, but the partaking of forbidden knowledge. You know how Jesus said "ye shall know them by their fruits" and talked about the "fruit of the Spirit" ? Well, I think that's what the fruit was. It was something that they were not supposed to engage in and Eve did and then shared that with Adam.

I think that most of the Bible is written in metaphors; and I think this should be obvious to many; if it isn't...one has to wonder. Plus the many important writings that were left out of the Bible; that should have been included.

As for what Adam and Eve ate; (if they really existed)...well I think they most likely ate fruits, vegetables and nuts.

I agree the grass doesn't seem greener on the other side but the same could be said from someone that has an opposite view point than ours. As far as dragging medical science into this will never get anyone to the truth i am speaking of.

I just re-read your OP and I admit that I got the wrong idea. Sorry.

I must have glazed over this part:

I believe that when we were created there was a certain flower that was meant to be our meat. It seems to me that humans are capable of a non carnal existence. How else would there ever be peace on earth?

A certain flower was meant to be our meat. Because of the thread title I took this as relating to food, while 'carnal' relates to sex. Please clarify your thought here. Thanks.

It all ties together for me. Maybe a better way of putting it would be to say that the original sin was to eat of the tree of life ( flesh of animals) and all forms of sin followed and since then no one but Jesus has been able to reverse the nature of sin and go down the other path of enlightenment. many have stopped eating meat but none have repented and ate the flower.

Carnal does not mean just sex. It means fleshly behavior of all kinds: selfishness, gluttony, or any other physical indulgence.

In context to become "non-carnal" would mean to lose one's body, which is consistent with the OP's idea of takaing a vacation from life - literally.

Perhaps the OP meant "carnivorous"?

In my tentative interpretation, they ate nothing. They were perfect breatharians.

They dwelt in the upper chakras. The stomach is a lower chakra.

Then they ate, and with that their consciousness descended to the stomach chakra. Then to the second and they noticed their nudity. Then to the root chakra where they were fully in the material earthly realm and out of the Garden.

Yea i'm having a hard time expressing that. Jesus was fed by his father sometimes and others he would be an onmivore. He said it is what comes out of a person that defiles them not what goes in.

I didn't mean to physically lose ones body but rather be reborn.

From what i understand of it when one is in the spiritual form then they can feed off the light from the plant and in a physical form it must be ate and digested with a small amount of water and that allows ones body to be regulated by the sun.

It is the way the tree of life(flesh of animals) makes us feel. In order for us to be here today it was necessary for the two to fall into a carnal state. In order for us to stay here it is necessary for us to get a grip on our carnal nature. The free for all is over.

I wonder how many of us would eat animals if they could talk to us? Would we e surprised to learn that animals made a choice to be here and die when necessary for our growth and when we get it together they will join us in our form.

So you mean a desire of the body of food by carnal not of a sexual nature. Unless they were able to perform photosynthesis they would have had to transfer the life energy of something into themselves to live.

But to your question, I doubt anyone one would eat something that said "Please don't eat me" but since they don't I am pretty sure we will. As for the last part that is your opinion and conjecture from a vegetarian perspective.

So would you be just as surprised that plants communicate and carrots scream when they are plucked from the ground? And I have proof of this unlike your speculation in the afterlife...

I am curious as to what you say about eating plants now. p.s. in that article carrots are also alive when you chop them up and throw them into a pot of boiling water...(shudder)

They did not have to eat anything. They were not gross beings, the fall was the eating (or metaphor as such) that brought them down in frequency to the 3.3D.

Of course it was a metaphor and to make it even worse.

It could be a Metaphor of a Metaphor.

They ate toe heads.

Utoya

U-toe-ya

Or Adam's Apple - Adams child. A dam apple

Apple-bees

They got kicked out for the same reason the ice age occurred. Chilling effects.

Silver bees. Habropoda miserablis.

well, i dont know, i think the tree of life, could indeed mean living and moving organic life forms....
interesting idea that the they were allowed to eat whatever plants and nuts and stuff, but when they killed and ate animals, that have a strong life force, it was considered as tabu by god.....
interesting perspective.... why not?
cheers, dudes...

More importantly, did they poop?

If there was poop, it means decay-of which there was none before the Fall, according to Christianity.

So they had bodies that created no waste, or they had perfect food that their bodies used every part of.

Since there was no death before the fall, Adam and Eve did not eat meat.
They ate fruit, seeds, nuts, and berries.
Even today, such a diet makes for better health and longer life, all else being equal, which it rarely is...
