I am beginning to think the fruit mentioned in Genesis was a metaphor. I am starting to believe it wasn't a fruit, but the partaking of forbidden knowledge. You know how Jesus said "ye shall know them by their fruits" and talked about the "fruit of the Spirit" ? Well, I think that's what the fruit was. It was something that they were not supposed to engage in and Eve did and then shared that with Adam.

I agree the grass doesn't seem greener on the other side but the same could be said from someone that has an opposite view point than ours. As far as dragging medical science into this will never get anyone to the truth i am speaking of.
I believe that when we were created there was a certain flower that was meant to be our meat. It seems to me that humans are capable of a non carnal existence. How else would there ever be peace on earth?

In my tentative interpretation, they ate nothing. They were perfect breatharians.
They dwelt in the upper chakras. The stomach is a lower chakra.
Then they ate, and with that their consciousness descended to the stomach chakra. Then to the second and they noticed their nudity. Then to the root chakra where they were fully in the material earthly realm and out of the Garden.

It is the way the tree of life(flesh of animals) makes us feel. In order for us to be here today it was necessary for the two to fall into a carnal state. In order for us to stay here it is necessary for us to get a grip on our carnal nature. The free for all is over.
I wonder how many of us would eat animals if they could talk to us? Would we e surprised to learn that animals made a choice to be here and die when necessary for our growth and when we get it together they will join us in our form.edit on 16-3-2013 by deadeyedick because: (no reason given)

I think that most of the Bible is written in metaphors; and I think this should be obvious to many; if it isn't...one has to wonder. Plus the many important writings that were left out of the Bible; that should have been included.
As for what Adam and Eve ate; (if they really existed)...well I think they most likely ate fruits, vegetables and nuts.
