I know they have egg substitutes but this one is different. Can natural food ever be replaced with exact same contents? I know they can replace it very easily.

A San Francisco food producer wants to make you an omelet without breaking any eggs – and they may be able to do it with one key ingredient they make in a lab – no chicken required.

From their Mission District laboratory, Hampton Creek Foods and CEO Josh Tetrick are taking aim at the egg farming industry.

“We just cannot go on eating like we all are right now with our food system,” Tetrick said. “It’s just unsustainable.”

That doesn't sound very appetizing.

I will stick to the fresh eggs I get from my girls in the coop.

Yep. Nothing beats natural ingredients. People forget that its the moderation and diversity of food that one consumes that makes a difference and prevents health issues.

An artificial, processed, congealed, gunk created in a lab to mimic the unborn aborted embryonic stage of a chicken?

Yuck.

I mean, processed. Yuck.

Yuck in deed. And sustainable? What's not sustainable about a chicken laying eggs?

On the other hand the vegans will go nuts. Another pretend animal food to eat.

Chicken eggs are pretty blah anyway in my opinion. Once you taste the glory of a duck egg you will never go back !

I'm not sure if the moral questionableness of the way we keep egg laying chickens now in intensive battery farms outweighs the questionableness of a 100% synthetic egg or not

"The egg came first and not the chicken"

I can't agree with that because everyone knows that the Rooster ALWAYS comes first!

Peace

Sounds like they are stealing the fake eggs from the Chinese. Their people don't want the fake eggs. I suppose they will export them to the USA and it will be perfectly legal to deceive people here.
