Indeed. If you start a thread, let me know.
People need to be saved from it. It's ... A HORRIBLE experience.
It's so horrible that it makes me think that those who do not suffer greatly for trying to adhere to it are people that are profiting from it -- and
not in the good way.
It is an incredibly long story. But the short form is that I tried to get us to adhere to it. And the Lord literally LET ME for a reason -- there
was a lot to learn from it, and a lot of humility to learn from it; and also a part of the lesson was "You can DO NOTHING to earn Heaven -- I chose
you because I did, and that's that. My choice trumps your works."
My family suffered so much that we had nothing but flour and sugar. Literally. For an entire year, flour and sugar only. That was for us and the
kids.
And I find nothing wrong with that, actually. We learned a great deal, and grew very strong because of it. But we also learned that every time we
tried to keep the Sabbath, we were attacked. The kids threw bigger fits. The adults went crazy around us. Hell ENTERED in. Not that we were simply
tempted-- but literally, there was no such thing as rest on the Sabbath.
This was simply not allowed for us.
I can't ask you to trust me when I say, I know beyond the shadow of a doubt that I am chosen in Christ. That's between you and Him, because He is
my witness, and you are not, obviously. So pray to Him and ask, and I will pray that He gives you an understanding of it so that you do not have to
go through it, but instead, you can learn from it.
But I am chosen.
And because I am chosen in Christ, I was NOT allowed to thrive in any way, shape, or form, for putting myself under a law that had been long ago
ratified by the Lord Jesus Christ.
I was allowed to live, and to learn its lessons.
But everyone doesn't have to go through that; and a lot of what we went through was for the purpose of calling out some of His elect FROM those
institutions that are still casting stumbling blocks before men, and causing us to fear, and to turn away (in ignorance, of course, but it's still
turning away, is it not?)
I belong to no denomination; except that the word denomination means "out of, by a given name" -- and the name I am called by is Jesus Christ.
not me, but the Spirit within me. I am low, humble, worthless, by no means worthy of any thing at all, and would gladly pass it up to others more
deserving, if there were such a thing -- but he preaches that no one is deserving, and so then I am even more humbled.
But that is not between you and me; that is between me and Him.
Research it all you want. That's fine. But please do not allow fear, and false convictions to take you over. There is NOTHING THAT WE CAN DO TO BE
SAVED.
How can you possibly imagine to build yourself a ladder to Heaven? Where is it? Point me in the right direction so that I may go!!...
But you can't.
Men cannot get to Heaven. That's just a fact.
Your works mean nothing because they are of yourself.
But the works of the Lord are proof that He is in us.
That is what is meant when He says, "Faith without works is dead". Because there is no such thing as faith unless the works of the Lord exist. It
is NOT OUR WORKS that prove faith. Ever.
Nothing that I can say can convince YOU or GOD that I am saved. Ever. Neither can they convince you of what is right or wrong.
But the Spirit of God that works within you convinces you and shows you and opens your ears and your eyes; and allows you to taste and to be filled;
and to discern what is sweet, and yet what is bitter in your belly - or what is bitter in your mouth - and also that which makes you fat, or even
poisoned.
The Spirit is given to us to discern and to show.
Remember, Jesus Christ said to the disciples and to the apostles, "I will make you fishers of men."
Did Jesus ever brow beat concerning ANY law at all?
If we are to bring the elect to their understanding, how can we continue to cast the stumbling blocks?
Now, when we fortify ourselves, and we are come together, we keep out that which is vile, and we will know it by its taste (spiritually).
We obey the Lord because we love Him and we love Him because He served us. There doesn't need to be a law there. That's stupid.
The law condemns, whereas freedom liberates.
I love my mom and dad because I want to; not because any silly law says so. And that's how God sees Law -- as silly.
But it's the CHARACTER of the Law that the Lord wants people to pay attention to. Love because you want to - not because you have to be TOLD.
And He also says, "take my yoke upon you; it is an EASY burden".
Do you think that He would say it is easy when it is not easy?
The reason why is because HE IS THE YOKE. THE REST; the Sabbath; the rest from OUR OWN WORKS; for we cannot save ourselves. Work of men is pointless
to God.
