The feds are agetting ready for massive unrest when the economy nosedives and entitlement programs are cut due to debt as well as inflation making food and necessities prohibitively expensive. THAT'S why they want to get rid of guns, theres no way they can control a pissed off americna people and maintian control when they'r eoutnumbered and outgunned.
You can bet they have the major urban cities in their crosshairs.
Only a fool would think the government will be able to protect them, every citizen is considered a potential threat at this point. Buy guns, buy ammo, buy food. And don't be afraid to shout down any elected official that tries to work against your safety by stripping you of your rights.

Are you from here? Colorado I mean? Because I am. From my experience, only those who have never been to Colorado think it's all Vail, Aspen, celebrities, and skiing, and "poor" people can't live here. I used to live in Illinois and not only is the rent comparable to Illinois' suburbs, but urban living is not only way cheaper than in Chicago, but the cost of living is cheaper as well: food, gas, etc. Water bills are kind of ridiculous here, I'll give you that one. Frankly I hope these stereotypes persist, along with how "violent" Colorado is (scary, scary place, ya know), because I could use more summers with less out-of-state folk throwing their garbage & cigarette butts out the windows, speeding and riding your a$$ at the national parks, all while "enjoying nature".

In the 1800 late 1800 most men and a
large percent of women knew how to shoot accurately.
They had bolt action single shot rifles.

In WWI we used the 1903 Springfield in .303 cal.
We fired 1000 rounds for each casualty inflicted on the enemy.

In WWII we used the semi-auto Garand in .30-06 cal. (8 round clip)
We fired 10,000 rounds per casualty inflicted on the enemy.

In VietNam we used the M16 in .223 cal. (20 + 30 round clips)
We fired 100,000 rounds per casualty inflicted on the enemy.

If you need help understanding the progressive waste of
ammunition and what factors caused it just ask me and I will let you know.

I can shoot five rounds out of a .30-06 into a nickel sized hole at 100 yards.
If you stretch that out to 1000 yards, a 10 inch plate will cover the hole made by five rounds.

If you cannot shoot at that range, for it is unlikely that a
normal avarage troop shooting at you or me will be able
to hit a 10 inch plate at 300 yards, then you need to
resign yourself to just carrying ammo and letting
more seasoned and accurate shooters do the long range stuff.

I never was impressed with a spray and pray attitude that seems to have infected
armed troops since the 1960's

depends on capacity of shotgun some have upwards of 10 to 15(ksg 12 pump action shotgun) a street sweeper(cobray) can have up to 20 and i think ive even seen one belt fed shotgun but i think it was a custom job

m-16 originally had a 20 round magazine now 30 seems to be standard giving you ten rounds more of 223 vs 12 gauge but as shotgun slugs can be an ounce or larger in weight and an m-16 fires on average a 55 grain projectile(they do vary)

as to your ar comment the average seems to be 537 yards effective range but i assume that could change depending on the flavor fired out of it as they have a variety of calibers but as like what you did (underestimating the abilities of a shotgun) the person with the ar might have over confidence and find out he gets reached out and touched not to mention at range comparing the ballistics of a 12 gauge slug vs an m-16 when your shooting at that range is like comparing getting hit by a pinto to a dodge dully pick up
