Whats wrong with ATS?

Whats going on? Im not seeing any avatars, and the recent post page has no colors in the post topics. Everything is just grey? Are we having bandwidth problems?

Yep... High bandwidth problems... That's probably what's happening.

I think the greys have taken over the server.

I hate when that happens and it has happened quite a bit today.

Low-bandwidth mode.

We switch to this when we're getting massive traffic to ensure the site still operates smoothly.

It'll be back to normal soon enough.

What's considered massive traffic?

Can't they just set up a redundant server?

not only has EVRYTHING lost its color....for me last post reply posted 5 times????? I had to edit to remove the same thing over and over..........

That has been happening frequently on here. I see triple or more post at least once a day. I have a thread in my subscription page that is listed 3 times in a row

I am sure you'll hear about the numbers soon enough. But they may scare you... I know we broke at least one record tonight and that is the most registered members online at once: 212

I am sure the guest visits and page views are in the thousands even now.

The server slows under this traffic and it works better in this low bandwidth mode for now... Of course SkepticOverlord is the only one who really knows.

so........ UM GAZZ (or any moderator) in the ATS store...'low bandwidth on'...is an option for purchase with ATS points. Are you saying that with low bandwidth my ATS site will look cleaner with less mix ups? If this is so...I will consider the low bandwidth purchase.
Would you possibly explain a little further WHAT the low bandwidth option in the store IS for me please?

I can't even imagine how slow ATS would be if SO hadn't gone to low bandwidth.

I dig your sense of humor.

I just find it funny that you have to pay points for this. Its sort of like going in to a store, and walking up to the register and saying while holding your hand out "There is nothing in my hand, how much is that going to cost me? 100 points? Damn thats a bargain!"
