Could it be that the source is making it all up or over-egging? If it gets serious then I sure it will be reported, but there are 101 different regional tiffs goiging on it would be impossible to cover them all.

Ahhh !!! Okay, why does this seem to be the new " Hit " thing with elections. We need a war on something for someone to get elected. The state of the world just makes me want to dig a hole.
Well according to the RAF/Bader-Meinhof statements of the past. one of their slogans was: "Kill 1 and scare 1,000"
Means have a bit of a skirmish and the "sheeple" will ask the Gvt. to protect them.

Now that the Philippine government and MILF(the Moro Islamic Liberation Front is a breakaway group from the MNLF who signed a peace pact sometime in the 90's) are close to signing ending several decades of war, it seems somebody is pulling another string to make this region as troubled as it was.
Seriously? They're called "The MILFs"?
Probably inappropriate, if they're a terrorist group, but...

Will they keep the island and settle with it or are they going for the Petronas?
Wow... this is a very weird and somewhat bold move by whoever planned this - I wonder the reason.
Although largely forgotten and dismissed as a vestige from a bygone era, Kiram’s sultanate sparked the biggest security crisis in Malaysia and the Philippines in decades when his younger brother early last month led about 200 followers, dozens of them armed, by boat from the southern Philippines a short distance away to a village in Sabah in the vast, oil-rich Borneo region to claim the land the sultanate insists belongs to them. The Kirams claim Sabah has belonged to their sultanate for centuries and was only leased to Malaysia, which they say pays them a paltry annual rent of 5,300 Malaysian ringgit ($1,708). Malaysian officials contend the payments are part of an arrangement under which the sultanate has ceded the 74,000 square kilometers (28,000 square miles) of Sabah territory to their country. Philippine presidents have relegated the volatile feud to the backburner despite efforts by the Kirams to put it back to the national agenda. The Feb. 9 Sabah expedition by the sultan’s younger brother, Agbimuddin Kiram, and the ensuing violence have resurrected the long-dormant issue with the murky history beyond anybody’s expectations. A Filipino sultan later leased Sabah to a British colonial-era company. The territory was later annexed by Britain. In 1963, six years after colonial Malaya gained independence, Sabah voted to join the new Malaysia. Read more: globalnation.inquirer.net... Okay so a few hundred Terrorists, have invaded a Malaysian Island? I hope they brought supplies. How do these terrorists plan to restock their ammunition/food supply?
Does Malaysia have a military/police/anti-terrorim force to deal with them? I know the philippines do, and they certainly don't # around. If the Philippino Anti-terror group or military goes after them, they will all be dead in a short time. No resupply for the terrorists, and the Philippines are notoriously hard warriors. The philippines is one of the few places left that take being a cop to the utmost seriousness. They serve and Protect their people, and are not afraid to die to do that.
If you've got the time check this out.
