This is definatly some scary $hit. I've never understood how or why a nation thinks it has the right to use nukes. I'm no tree hugger, but, dang........

I wish stumpy would just push the button already... Im sure the rest of the world will be happy when NK is turned into shadows and glass as will be the response to their silly "bluster-bombs"..

Errrr.... didn't the USA, some years ago, whilst under Bush the younger, state it's intent on "Nuclear First Strike" capability against those it perceived as a threat?

I think this is being so overblown, as is usual, by the media as it's just another good scary story for the masses. Full of piss and vinegar but lacking in substance or any actual threat.

since they are threatening a preemptive strike on the US, I don't think it's SK that they are trying to provoke.

I doubt their missiles can reach washington, unless they are referring to Washington State and, even then, I'm guessing they'll fall short.

Sounds like Kim is getting advice from Dennis Rodman.

Never a good thing.

You got it! Rarely do i agree with you, but on this one we are on the same side. These testosterone filled knuckleheads don't see the bigger picture here on what this would cause.

This is just a lot of barking. How stupid would you be if you were the leader of a country to tell a superpower that you were about to use a nuke against them. He is begging for food while trying not to look weak.

What Un er DPRK is doing now is trying to provoke the US or South Korea in making the move as to not let the DPRK be seen as the aggressor. or making the US retreat form the area of SK, and cease their Mil war a games. The south and US have been warned what will happen next, the only one that really knows is Un er DPRK. lets hope it is all talk.
But then Un will egg on face, or is that KimChi.

I don't know, when I was 28 I was cocky and would do stuff I would regret. "O you don't believe me huh, well take this" . I had that attitude. Now imagine a guy with that attitude but with a Nuke. If we piss him off he will just do it out of spite. Impulsive action. Happens in a lot of youngsters. Especially when they feel they are being bullied.

NK is like the nerd tired of the # and brings a gun to the play ground to even the odds.

The entire North Korean premise, viewed by the West is to piss lil kim off,
lil kim thinks he is in control of this situation, he thinks he can wave and shout and
the United States and others will make under the table deals and give them some food and materials.

I think he is being baited. i do.

The more he shouts and threatens the less he gets from us which upsets lil kim even more, and the cycle repeats.
We are winning, because i think :

1)Ultimately this will cause the regime to collapse... A win for us!
2)lil kim goes to far and launches a meaningful strike on SK... SHTF North destroyed... A win for us!
3)lil kim becomes so unhinged that he invokes Chinas wrath and is Invaded... A draw for us.

Just a few thoughts

But maybe Russia and China will come in and start something with US.

Then, US will be finished.

It's just more big talk and saber rattling. They are not going to nuke us or anyone. They are not that stupid. They are upset about the latest sanctions being placed against them, so they are basically trying to talk big in hopes that we would maybe back down from the sanctions...And we aren't.

As for China, even they agreed to the sanctions. So no, they are not going to "come in and start something with us".

China, North Korea's key ally, could have used its veto power to block the sanctions. Instead, after weeks of negotiating, it signed on to the final draft.

"China is a country of principle," China's U.N. Ambassador Li Baodong said. "We are firmly committed to safeguarding peace and stability on the Korean peninsula."

how in the world is another war a win for us. I get what you're saying, but we can't afford to pay our bills at home much less a war that probably won't turn out to be a cake walk for us.

The answer to all the worlds problems is not killing people that have no decision making power in such and such country.

an other point of view:
Un Nukes SK, Seoul is no longer, Us Nukes DPRK China then Nukes US.

Un does not use nukes but does level Seoul, US then invades DPRK and levels Pyongyang, China then enters the war.

US ends the war games on the 11th DPRK says "see we drove the US away", but still threatens the South and turns it anger on the UN for the sanctions it imposed,as well as China.

now out them 3 what "ifs" what is most likely be the out come.

None of them are likely in my opinion.. I don't believe nukes are
really on the table, and if they are then God help us all.

Very likley number 3 if i'm honest or a version of 3!

No knock on the OP here...But North Korea exhausts me.

They blackmail the world...."we are scary and crazy and will launch Nukes!"...so we send aid and food...which feeds enough people to prolong the failing dictatorship.

And the USA plays along, cuz the Military-Inudstrial complex and politicians need a handy boogieman for thier BS.

NK will never launch Nukes at anyone, cuz Kim-Jong Un, like his dad...loves his power and loves LIVING...both of which would come to an abrupt and bloody halt if he so much as pretended to launch one of his half-ass rockets at anyone.

AND EVERYONE KNOWS IT! Us...them...China..Europe...and yet everyone keeps playing the game.

We should just ignore North Korea.

To be honest, this isn't any different than usual NK propaganda.

Now, I don't claim to be any expert on modern weapon systems, but I highly suspect the US have "something" in place that would effectively shoot down any intercontinental ballistic missile heading for US/Canadian shores.

While I don't doubt the "belief" of NK, i think it's nothing more than chest pounding.
