Well, it appears that Holder and Obama were too little too late.

Cruz, Paul Introduce Bill to Prohibit Drone Killings of U.S. Citizens

WASHINGTON, DC—U.S. Senators Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Rand Paul (R-KY) today introduced legislation to prohibit drone killings of U.S. citizens on U.S. soil if they do not represent an imminent threat.

“Our Constitution restrains government power,” Cruz said. “The federal government may not use drones to kill U.S. citizens on U.S. soil if they do not represent an imminent threat. The Commander in Chief does, of course, have the power to protect Americans from imminent attack, and nothing in this legislation interferes with that power.”

Key bill text:
The Federal Government may not use a drone to kill a citizen of the United States who is located in the United States. The prohibition under this subsection shall not apply to an individual who poses an imminent threat of death or serious bodily injury to another individual. Nothing in this section shall be construed to suggest that the Constitution would otherwise allow the killing of a citizen of the United States in the United States without due process of law.

www.cruz.senate.gov...

Ummm.....is this what all the hubbub was about so that these two asshats could tell us that there will be no use of killer drones........unless?

Lets disect that "unless"...shall we? "The prohibition under this subsection shall not apply to an individual who poses an imminent threat of death or serious bodily injury to another individual." So with this wide as manifest destiny brush we can paint in just about any scenario we can imagine. TSHTF your defending your family from confiscations, be they resources or infrastructure........BOOM, down from 30,000 ft streaks a missile with a picture of Ted Cruz and Rand Paul's smiling mugs stenciled on the body...or...Your one of those wrong addresses that swat loves to hit, barricaded there behind the door of your safe room from the jack boots.....it goes eerily quiet...............BOOM...another "Paul Cruz missile"......while the perps three streets over slink away......wrong house, wrong neighborhood.....wrong policy.

Meanwhile tthe Senate photographer redies the set for another cameo for the..."Paul, Cruz, Missile"... PCM's...for those times when..."The prohibition under this subsection shall not apply to an individual who poses an imminent threat of death or serious bodily injury to another individual.".....

What a freaking joke........just not a funny, funny...ha ha

Rand Paul IS the "Dog and Pony" show. His father Ron? I don't agree with a lot of his positions, but he is an honest man. Rand? A panderer and BSer riding his fathers coat-tails...his fathers Principles are nothing but a convenient bumper sticker in his campaign for more power.

Don't worry, the people who still hold true to the constitution won't put up with any anti-liberty legislation from anyone. If Rand Paul starts his "campaign for more power" he will lose his base - he likely realized that with his support of Romney in the last election.

Same really can't be said of Obama supporters, Obama time and time again appears to be Bush 2.0 but the supporters keep on cheering blindly. Pog and Pony show? That has been the entire time Obama has been in office.

I find your comments interesting, even amusing. I suggest you stand right where you are and for what you believe in and if you own a car, make a bumper-sticker proclaiming your beliefs...please.

Meanwhile, Lyndon La Rouche once again states my perspective on Obama and all those with them:

Ummm........define "engaged in combat" in the context of this letter.........What exactly does that mean?......According to their list of terrorist who's who....YOUR...on that list and possibly/probably considered an enemy combatant......how is this considered a win,win...in your opinion?

Read the text of Rand Pauls new drone ammendment.....it's just ludicrous for you to keep claiming that this blizzardbuster was a win.............smoke...and...mirrors................nothing more.

YouSir

If you read my posts before and below that I've been saying the Obama administration will NEVER give us what we want because there are certain powers that THEY want. Where the hell did I call this a win-win?

Right, everything is smoke and mirrors. Open your fridge? smoke and mirrors!
Ummm......Please re-read what I stated, I simply asked you for your opinion and for you to define what "engaged in combat" meant in the context of that letter from the AG.......As for my smoke and mirrors comment, that was directed to the filibuster when contrasted against...

In my opinion it is certainly smoke and mirrors to stage this filibuster when your own proposed law has those caveat's for when you...CAN...use "Paul Cruz Missiles"....on Americans on American Soil...

Why are the Obama supporters so offended? Rand Paul was clearly trying to prevent ANY PRESIDENT to have the ability to kill Americans without just cause. I wonder what Democrats would be saying if a Republican president tried to pass this.......

Who has been saying that Obama haters want to engage in combat against Obama supporters.....are you trying to tell us something? Perhaps the rhetoric of "domestic terrorists" / "patriots" is more then just words, but a message of intent from the left.

Take note people.

Here is the deal bro. If you can show me another honest republican other than ron and rand paul, and an honest democrat other than dennis kucinich, then I have a beautiful house on the moon for you complete with a tennis court, jaccuzzi, mini-golf, lots of nice chicks, a professional rock bank at your disposal, and a perpetual all you can eat garden of eden full of vegetables.

The reality of duopolism sucks but we allowed it via ignorance and apathy. The rule of the jungle mentality reins supreme throughout the universe. Those with power seek more and trample on others to get it. Its only hugs, kisses and sunshine for as long as we are young, if we were lucky enough to get a taste. As you grow up reality sets in.

That's a solid point. The only way I can rationalize that (at least in a positive way) is that Paul & Cruz recognize that a bill (rightfully) banning the use of drones of any fashion inside the borders of the USA would never make it past the floor of either the House or Senate. Both parties stand to make too much money and have experienced too many wet dreams over the prospect of having Big Brother's eyes all over the skies, watching our daily activities, watching our personal conduct, watching our wives and our children, watching, always watching. In much the same way as the Civil Rights movement finally gained government support by openly accusing the nay voters of being racists and publicly shaming them, we need to start openly classifying those in favor of spy drones in the US as being what they are, perverts, and publicly shaming them for their voyeuristic urges.

Obama gives a bad name to "the left". From the 5 trillion bailouts, to the continuation of overseas war, to the development of drones, to his mishandling of the BP accident, to the continuation of ndaa/patriot act/dhs/tsa, to his failure of wanting to fix the economy, failure to call out the republicans on the false flag of 9-11-2001, to bill clinton becoming friends with george bush, etc.

Seriously many failures from these so called left wingers. Liberals are not left wingers anyway. The conservatives just need to bash someone and they do that by mislabeling people and parties.

.....I see him and his people being sneaky little rats.

The fact this had to be questioned for 12 hours on the floor should tell the people something.

You Obama supporters kill me, just not here.

Sorry, but you're very wrong. I'd call you the "i" word but I'll get modded.

Think about what you just said.

I agree 100% with what Ran Paul did yesterday and I applaud his actions, but it's literally the first and only time he's taken a stand for the constitution in his entire career. He threw his support behind Romney and voted NO to GMO labeling. Time will tell where he stands, but given his record, one good deed is not enough to break his record as a sell out.

People needs to understand that Rand Paul is NOT Ron Paul. And I'm already starting to see the rock star sheep-like mentality that happened in 2008.

Here is my point. Look at this beautiful FIVE year old child, that was the victim of a drone strike. Can you tell me what will happen the first time this happens on US soil? i.imgur.com...

NOTHING!

Nothing will happen.

Americans will go back to watching sports and american idol and playing with their iPhones.

They will say: "sux to B them! lawlz!"

I wont depend on any of my stupid, lazy, weak-minded countryman to fix this mess, some may fight it but they will end up just like that FIVE year old child. I'm just going to "lay-low" until the shooting stops and hope to salvage what's left after the tyrant politicians and banksters destroy our once proud nation.

You are ABSOLUTELY lying when you say, "its literally the first and only time he's taken a stand for the constitution in his entire career". It truly shows you have absolutely no knowledge of the facts at hand.

Yes he threw his support behind Romney, he has been saying before and after his endorsement that he would always endorse the nominee, yet people want to gloss over that and throw blame to feel better about themselves.

For GMO Labeling, I know PLENTY of libertarians that voted NO on GMO Labeling. Even though I personally voted yes on Prop 37 here in California to label GMO's I knew that there are many libertarians out there that don't think the government should intervene in the free market workings on food labeling. I voted FOR labeling but at the same time I understand WHY people vote against it. Its a principle thing, you'll never understand it because you don't take the time to consider others' positions.

Ummm....I hear ya, but I keep having this annoying optimism...It's kinda like an itch way deep down inside where you just can't quite scratch. I suppose what keeps me going is this vision of a lever action 45 70 government round tearing through all that lightweight drone. Good thing it was just a dream I had...cause...ahem...not owning one of those really, really, nice tools would just end up with me strafed all over...and perforations just not my forte...

The Libertarians have a point this time. What Sen. Paul is refusing to let pass is a law that would allow the persident to order a drone strike on you for any reason they deem criminal. That is not the road the states should go down and Paul understands that. For once, I am behind the Libertarians.
