Make it illegal to not buy health insurance? What a load of hypocritical double-standard nonsense. Eliminating such a choice is fascism.

I agree. Your point?

How is this any different?

How is making it mandatory to buy guns any different than making it mandatory to buy health insurance? How is forcing someone to buy one thing different than forcing them to buy another?

Double standards and hypocrisy.

You would protect your right to own guns by eliminating the right not to own guns. I see a failure of rationality here.

I some how think you missed the whole point of me posting this. Maybe try rereading?

Oh darth, I find this to be one of the funniest things I have seen all week. If only more people could apply logic in a such a rational, unbiased manner, we would most likely have a lot fewer problems.

Star for you

Reading comprehension epic fail. Did you read the link at all? Only HOME OWNERS are required to follow this law. Even they have provisions to opt out. Too bad dear leader only gives opt out provisions to his supporters when it comes to the abominable care act.

en.wikipedia.org... well Georgia is a open carry state so i think they could bring it legally with them,as far as concealing it it would end up being permuting issue but they are a shal issue state, but open carry was a little vague so i may be wrong on that.but does specify that long guns must be carried openly if they are loaded

Wouldn't it be sweet in a just world where your taxes went into something like that just once...

Here's your gun for being an American, have a great day!

Then they bring the community together to practice shooting etc...

...on the other side of the coin though, some people FEAR guns like I fear needles.
It would be horrible for them lol

What example are we trying to teach? This whole idea is a poor attempt to prove a point as a child would prove a point. "I don't like stealing so I'm going to steal to prove you a lesson."

Why would someone support the removal of freedoms while decrying the removal of freedoms? It is beyond ridiculous, and represents the growing child-like mentality of American politics.

This is too laughable.

Just what Americans need, every single person packing a pistol....

.... including all the gene pool rejects.

.... and nobody seeing the potential problem with this idea if it spreads across the board.

Fricken hilarious.

What is both hilarious and sad at the same time is comments like this where the poster obviously did not read the link before shooting from the hip with their opinion. For that matter I specifically mentioned this in my OP.

Opt outs are available for religious reasons, mental incapacity, and convicted felons.

What is it with the complete lack of reading comprehension exhibited by the anti-gun posters here? Do actual facts get in the way of making your point so you just ignore them?

Ignore what ?

Define "mental incapacity".

Someone who's on welfare ?
Someone who only has a grade 9 education ?
Anyone who has a disdain for any other ethnicity other than their own ?
Someone who's non-Christian ?

Define, thanks.

It's not so black and white, is it ?

Therefore leaving it wide open for handing out guns to those that don't have the maturity level to handle it with the appropriate responsibilities necessary to do so.

Or are you all in favour of some irresponsible idiot leaving their gun sitting out on the kitchen table for one of their numerous kiddies to get a hold of, while their sucking back their 15th beer watching American idol ?

And what is wrong with that? If it is not where the family can get to it, then why have it? What use is it to anyone?

I grew up with a shotgun sitting in the corner of the kitchen. It was always there. Never moved unless it was used. I knew it was a real gun and knew what it could do before I was strong enough to lift it up.. My access to it, and my other sibling’s access to it was never a problem. We never messed with it and pointed at anyone.

If we had to point it at anyone, then they probably should not be there.

Almost all the neighbors around here deal with firearms the same way. You walk in an want to set something down by the door, you have to push the rifles and shotguns out of the way to find a place to set something. I have never in my entire life heard about any child accidentally shooting something, or someone in this county.

People’s obsession with locking guns up, and being insanely scared of them has never made sense to me.

Would you freak out so much if someone left a hammer laying on the table where any of the children could reach it? They can just as easily kill one of their siblings with a hammer as they can a gun.

There is countless deadly things in the house. You help prevent people from killing themselves by educating them on the dangers in everything around them. You don’t keep them wrapped in bubble wrap their entire childhood.

They either learn as they are growing up, or they die. What doesn’t kill us, makes us stronger.

I also grew up around guns, and had much the same experience. Not to mention the fact that many of us had rifles and/or shotguns in our vehicles especially come hunting season. Amazingly, there were no mass shootings at any of the schools I went to despite the presence of so many "evil" (
) guns.

None of those fit, though I do wonder about the mental capacity of gun grabbing liberals.

lolwut

Mr. Criminal we are requiring everyone to own a gun. However, for you it's optional. What's your preference? Gun or no gun?

From the article:

Every homeowner in a local town could soon have to own a gun or break the law. It's a controversial new plan for the city of Nelson.

So if you choose to defy this by not owning a gun, you break the law. Then you become a criminal, at which point gun ownership is optional...

learn proper grammar, and how to spell "evil" then you can start calling other people stupid.

FYI I'm from Michigan so no I'm not a southerner. I think this law is idiotic, and is a waste of tax payer dollars. i'm not against guns though I own three. Just because you hold views different then someone else doesn't mean there an idiot, that's a very narrow minded way of thinking.
