Not sure if this was posted but more stockpiling continues. Intimidation or a legitimate purpose down the road? Are they hoping for the citizens to push themselves into forming local resistance groups against the Gov't? so that they have a valid reason to declare Marshall Law in the future?

This is getting a little creepy. According to one estimate, since last year the Department of Homeland Security has stockpiled more than 1.6 billion bullets, mainly .40 caliber and 9mm.
DHS also purchased 2,700 Mine Resistant Armor Protected Vehicles (MRAP).

This is a waste of YOUR TAXES PEOPLE. They have already recommissioned the MRAPS from Afganistan/Pakistan. And everyone already knows how to make those into luau machines thanks to the Taliban.
This drivel is so over.

Before I bite completely, I have to see if I can find other sources. That being said..."IF" this is actually true...just wow. They can't afford to retain the illegal immigrants or send them home but they can spend all this money on armored vehicles for the streets here at home.

Pretty scary in that context.

Yeah, I know, the vehicles were probably contracted a long time ago and now the Gov has to receive them...no refunds on crap like this btw.

This seems to reinforce a whole series of questionable choices made by those in power in order to "protect" something...to me, it illustrates some very poor allocation of resources and a mixed up value of priorities...

just my opinion.

I'll see if I can find "talk" of this elsewhere though before I commit to it's legitimacy.

The DHS needs light armored vehicles in domestic territory?
Really? I'd say something is brewing, friends...

Scary times ahead? Sure...if you're not paying attention.
This current administration and it's chronies must be shaking in their boots.
Evidently they are preparing for imminent disaster.
And think that we don't notice...
But alot of people saw the writing on the wall and it was clear.
Which is why there will be 300 million people to deal with.

We are the reason they need 270,000 tanks.
Not a mere 2700.

I know
Its intimidation more so than anything at this point. Something will be forced/shoved down the people's throats in the form of a new law once the moment is right is what I'm thinking.

Seems like nobody remembers Obama saying that he wanted a civilian "force" that rivaled the military.
Looks like thats one campaign promise that he is intent on keeping

They don't need heavy armored tanks for US citizens......They will all but have everyone disarmed soon enough and people won't be a threat other than in numbers......Pitchforks and shovels aren't a threat to a light armored tank.....

Sounds like someone is preparing for a civil war....

I wonder if those fat rubber tires burn like regular rubber tires? I bet those MRAP's get mighty hot and oxygen deprived when they are ON FIRE.

I think survival/prepper people should invest in flamethrowers. You know, to melt snow and ice from their driveways, burn weeds and whatnot.

The bullet purchase order was for 1600M. The "M" in federal stock system abbreviations means 1600 lots of 50, not a million. M=50. Ref: Defense Logistics Agency Customer Assistance Handbook, page 29.

Just watch the video then imagine a couple of those patrolling the Greater Cleveland Area. I don't doubt that DHS has some of these vehicles. However, it is difficult to confirm that DHS purchase 2700 of these last year.

Navistar did upgrade 2717 MRAPs for the Marine Corp last year...
www.naval-technology.com...

Some have interpreted that upgrade with this DHS buy... Note the 2717 number

www.godlikeproductions.com...

Who knows how many DHS really has. Perhaps they are procured via traditional military outlets and then dispersed to other Federal Agencies.

Just look at how "diversified" DHS in regards to the scope of authority.

I want an Mrap found a new zombie apocalyspe bug out vehicle~!

Dhs doesn't even need them hell Drug cartels have taken over entire national parks on the southern border and neither the state or the feds do anything about it.

That is an urban vehicle for an urban cause as in "warrants" and things like "gun confiscation".

Can you get back to us and let us know what letter followed the 2,717 on the order documents for the MRAP's???

ETA: 2,717 amounts to over 54 of these 'vehicles' per state... including Alaska and Hawaii.

ETA yet again....
According to some federal govt-loving posters at this site, the numbers according to you would have them running out of bullets...just from qualifying with their weapons. Some have justified the billions number floating around as what is needed to keep the agents qualified.
Agents... like those that work for NOAA, the folks that bring us our weather forecasts. What do they carry Glocks around to shoot clouds, or what?

This is ridiculous. How are people so blind to this, if this is true there is something seriously heavy sitting right on top of our mindlessly distracted heads.
I just don't understand WHY, if they aren't planning for a SHTF type scenario.
