Can ATS start screening sources for news stories in the various news forums? I keep seeing stories sourced from publications of dubious veracity (at best) like the Daily Mail or NaturalNews posted as fact, and it's kind of annoying. I know I'm gonna take a lot of flak here for suggesting that ATS require "MSM" coverage for news, but the fact is that a lot of the stuff that gets posted as news on, say, Info Wars is flat-out false.

I for one find the tired old refrain about MSM very worn. There are a variety of credible MSM sources out there. Are they right 100% of the time? No, but then again nobody is. It just gets old seeing 'oh it was on *insert MSM outlet so therefore it's patently false/true' time after time. Sadly I don't think this is going to get anywhere, because people are too entrenched in their beliefs.

Do you want ATS to do your thinking for you? It is up to you whether you take the source as viable. Often they are not the source, but the only outlet willing to listen to them. If it prompts you to look further into a topic, then it has at least done that, whether it be proven true or false.

I agree.

I'm curious that you identify the Daily Mail as "non-MSM".
It's a national newspaper, or the online organ of one.
How "main-stream" can you get?

I disagree with this idea and think most sources should be allowed.
It should be up to you to discern what is true and what is false in this world.

My solution would be requiring every ATS member to get one of these and install it:

... and anyone who posts anything from "BeforeItsNews.com" gets an automatic punch in the nose from the website

If you're going to ban news sources, start with the mainstream media. They're the least trustworthy of all media.
