my very own zombie thread....braaaaaaaaaains....maybe with friiiiieees

So we see a lot of zombie like occurences over the last year whether drug induced or giant bio weapons producing conglomerate caused is unknown(looking at you umbrella). But it has got me thinking what would a zombie apocalypse look like or how coild it occur in the first place.

First we will look at romero style zombies (early romero non intelgent slow moving cattle type).

They are slow uncoordinated but seem to always appear behind you as soon as you drop your guard. It always takes a patient zero who bites a few people before being shot dead just in time for us to hear about it on the evening news to which we will write it off as a madman especially with that creepy guy next door lurking right out side our collective windows. Would these zombies even pose a risk at first they are to slow and lets face it as an american if you get within 3 feet of me and are not an attractive young lady your probibly going to get punched (sorry if that was your gram gram but she smelled like vicks vapor rub and had it coming.. please dont press charges)

Now lets go with the 28 days later kind.. they are fast mean and transmit through any bodily fluid with a rapid transformation of +-15 seconds. Their draw back is they are brittish so you have several times a day that they go back home for tea giving you 20 minutes to an hour before they are back at it again. Plus brittish zombies are not used to facing people armed with more than cricket bats so maybe they wouldent fair so well here in the U.S. we got real bats of the Louisville slugger kind and those pesky lacross sticks. Still it would take a few running around unchecked before a pandemic could happen.

Lastly you have the oops government spilled some nasty nuclear, biological, comet, alien or mix therof into the water supply. This creates zombies with mutations and infects multitudes of coffee drinkers at dawn hint I would avoid starbucs in this scenario. Still slow but in great numbers and those poor baristas (seariously they have a title) since it still takes time to kick in im sure the highways will be a mess so travel would be harder they are american so they are entitled to biting those un effected.

The 28 Days Later scenario is a lot more likely than we may think. Just Google on Rabies. Now, imagine an airborne strain that has mutated enough to be nearly unidentifiable by normal tests, and has the initial side effects of the common cold or flu (meaning people won't seek testing or treatment until too late). A mutated Rabies virus would be nearly identical to the "Rage" virus of the movie (and yes, would result in fast zombies)....

It would have to be airborne to be spread so quickly...if just by bite, it could be easily contained and quarantined.
