Hello ATS

It is rather late here but I can hear my dear boyfriend snoring loudly. So loudly that I know that I need to be a bit more sleepy to actually fall asleep when I wander to bed.

I've been reading quite a bit on this site for awhile. Mostly paying attention to topics that involve "tangible" ideas and events. Things like earthquakes, documented near earth objects. Ideas and fantasies about Mayan predictions and rogue planet-like objects are entertaining to me but I'll never take them seriously.

Politically, I'm more bent in a progressive direction. I am very socially liberal. My genealogy is a combination of "Daughters of the American Revolution" and "Anchor Baby". I'm first generation American on my mom's side. But, she was Canadian . I'm more critical of Geo. Washington than most Americans and I also think that the letter "zed" sounds stupid. The DAR part of me is from my father's side. He was a devout Protestant who, just by being the good person that he was, taught me about respect. He embodied the Golden Rule. His ability to grow and adapt while being a loving person still inspires me to be a better person even as I continue to grow beyond religion and dogma. I appreciate faith and community because of him.

I love that this site encourages knowledge. I've lurked enough to know that some members don't actively seek truth but rather prefer validation. I think that we all share that weakness. We are human.

I believe in advocating for myself and others. I believe in speaking out. I believe in informed consent and informed consent means knowing, hearing, learning about EVERY aspect. Not just what you want to hear. Everything. Warts and all.
