Private insurance companies and medicine for profit system.
Oh, yes, those evil for profit private companies! /sarcasm.
So you would rather have a for profit Government?
When you have a national healthcare system in place the motivation is to heal you not to treat you forever and create massive bills that are ridiculous and out of reach to ordinary Americans.
Where did you get that idea from? Have you even read the ACA?

I believe every American should be born with the right to complete and non exhaustive healthcare. PERIOD. Why it isnt so is a scam and is quite pathetic to be honest.
I am an American living in Canada. We pay a little more here for taxes on luxury items etc but I can go to the doctor for an earache, I can go get my lungs looked at with a bronchoscopy or break my hip, get it fixed up and I will see absolutely no bill.
Why America cant get this right is beyond me.

How much have we spent the last 11 years fighting the war on terror?
Heck how much have we spent fighting wars the last 75 years?

Americans can get treatment any and every day, with no waiting list/s and to a Dr of their choice, but will be billed. Americans can walk into any ER and get treatment & not be turned away. but yes, we will be billed. Most hospitals (every one I know of) will work out an affordable pymt. plan to those who don't have the money all at once. If a person is unable to pay because of income, many times things can be worked out through certain programs.
I don't know why some people get it in their minds that all Americans have to go untreated, because that's just not so.. in most cases. I've also never heard of the waiting lists here that I've heard of in some other places where socailized medicine takes place.

Drop ObamaCare and its monopoly on healthcare, Monopoly’s drive up prices. Open up state boards to increase competition. Let Doctors start up their own practices again and allow them to purchase supplies from whole sales to pass on the savings. Make it law that the patient has the right to see the price of an operation or service before its done.
Obama Care only impowers the insurance companys and drives out copetition. Thats why prices are skyrocketing. I remember before obama care was a wet dream, health care insurance would only increase 3%-4% a year. After Obamacare there has been nearly a 40% increase in the last two years!
People are so stupid sometimes

The government in Canada does not make a profit off of healthcare, you are clearly missing the point. MY point is to get rid of health insurance all together. Everyone pays a little more tax on booz and cigarettes etc. to pay for it.
If the federal and state governments were responsible for the costs associated with healthcare the word profit isnt even in the equation.

Yes and no. It lowers the cost of health insurance, but at the same time makes it mandatory for many people who still cant afford it. Myself, for example, fall into the mandate, so even though i cant afford a car payment, a house, orsave any money for retirement, im forced into this "crapcare" or pay a fine. On top of taxes being raised, which another poster pointed out in another thread. This whole thing is a horrible idea built from lies and empty promises. Score 1 for the govt., people: 0

The Canadian Health System has its flaws as well....
I have waited actually years for an MRI
I have waited many many months for surgery.....instances of people actually dying before they get needed treatment occur.......
The truth is that the doctors, the hospitals, the whole shebang has a maonopoly on the system...Its a closed hierarchy.
Medical treatent should be available to all......
No regardless to all.........
The doctors and health care workers i see and know have a pretty fine and comfy life style along with an unhurried and casual work place.....everything here happens at a snails pace...
Unused, for half the 24 hours, medical diagnosis machines lay idle...while the specialised operators sleep in comfort.
Meanwhile real people suffer unwarranted agonies while awaiting diagnoses that are slow enough in comming to possily kill you in the meanime....
NO Medical system is perfect.
But the goverment should be administering the med system and it should all be supported by taxes.
FURNISHED BY THE CORPORATIONS PROFITS!!!!!
