We here in Central Indiana are getting freezing rain right now. I haven't looked at a weather map yet today, but, I'm sure my ride home at 12:30 A.M. will be quite fun.
Last week, the freakiest thing I ever seen, A ride home from work for me is 15 minutes. It was pouring down rain when I left work, half way home I swore it was snowing, I turned on the last road to my house, and it was almost a complete white out. First time in my almost 40 yrs. have I ever experienced that.
Of course, my mother in law lives 5 minutes away, we can get 2 inches of rain, while she only get a little wet, or vice-a-versa. Pretty wild for sure.

goouu111's pic of the caved in roof brings up another good point regarding how cities' infrastructures grow up around "usual" climate.

In Colorado (see prior posts), especially the parts that have feet of snow every year, the roofs and buildings are built to withstand things. Just like cities near the water are sometimes on stilts, and in earthquake areas are built with quake-ready skeletons. In the prairies, lines of trees are planted to block north winds. Every climate has its own "personality", and structures are built to withstand them.

Okay, now it's started again.
Huge, fat flakes. There was some melt today, which means that the bottom layers are liquid, and going to freeze overnight.
We're expecting another maybe 3"...

and, my ATV-snow angel just showed up to plow it!!!!
YAY!!!

The pic of the building in Belton isn't that where they have classes for kids learning wrestling and gymnastics?
Hope there wasn't anyone in it.

Thankfully it ended up being too warm here in northern indiana for snow yesterday. We had mostly freezing rain, that changed to snow early this morning. There's maybe an inch out there now.

Better than the 3-5 inches they predicted.
